Hi jc-sama, Please, if you are still having issues, test with the latest development release of Ubuntu. ISO CD images are available from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/releases/ . If it remains an issue, could you run the following command from a Terminal (Applications->Accessories->Terminal). It will automatically gather and attach updated debug information to this report. apport-collect -p alsa-base 460543 Also, if you could test the latest upstream kernel available that would be great. It will allow additional upstream developers to examine the issue. Refer to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Once you've tested the upstream kernel, please remove the 'needs- upstream-testing' tag. hello again, I tried to use the network method (8.04->8.10->9.04->9.10) but it got messy when i jumped from 8.10 to 9.04, so i formated my HD and i installed 9.10 stable version and it seems to work as... What happens when you use sudo apt-get install linux-backports-modules-alsa-karmic? I uninstalled sl-modem-daemon, but it didn't solve my problem. I installed ubuntu 8.04 and it seems to work better than 9.04 or 9.10 Beta and i wonder... is there any way to take my actual hardware configuration from 8.04 to 9.10?
