Sorry about but I don't understand!! -- package nouveau-kernel-source 0.0.15+git20090823-0ubuntu1 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 3 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/480501 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 480501] Re: package nouveau-kernel-source 0.0.15+git20090823-0ubuntu1 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 3
So, one solution is to just remove nouveau-kernel-source and then install it again. I've managed to hit this, so it should be possible to not register the same Nouveau version twice with dkms. ** Changed in: nouveau-kernel-source (Ubuntu) Status: New = Confirmed ** Changed in: nouveau-kernel-source (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided = Medium -- package nouveau-kernel-source 0.0.15+git20090823-0ubuntu1 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 3 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/480501 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

I had this problem for a while. Finally followed the workaround in Bug #414780 (despite misgivings about doing self brain surgery). Workaround: removing nouveau-kernel-source and xserver-xorg-video-nouveau with synaptic (complete removal used, but I don't think there are many configuration files), and then reinstalling... Went fine and no more errors during installations!
