[Bug 521703] Re: Cannot report kubuntu bug
I keep this open since you already objected to closing this, but let me say that this is not high priority. In Ubuntu we use launchpad- integration to provide a report a bug... menu entry in our applications, which is more intuitive than a central application where you have to guess package names. If you just launch ubuntu-bug you get a list of common symptoms, and I guess we could also add a Problem in a particular package and then ask for it. Not that user-friendly, though. Another aspect is that we don't really want to encourage to file even more less-than-optimal bug reports, since of those we already have plenty. :-) ** Changed in: apport (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided = Wishlist ** Changed in: apport (Ubuntu) Status: New = Triaged ** Summary changed: - Cannot report kubuntu bug + Provide central application to file bugs -- Provide central application to file bugs https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/521703 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 521703] Re: Cannot report kubuntu bug
It is OK if you closed the bug. I don't want to annoy you, but I think you missed my point. The point, is that there is no easy way to report a bug. The ubuntu-bug program will not accept a bug report for KPackageKit, and the page you pointed me to is exactly what I am complaining about. I read it at least two times before submitting this bug. The page is way to complicated with no clear link to the bug reporting web site. I am used to submitting bugs and run my own project, but I find no simple way to report a Kubuntu bug. It seems to me that it should be obvious, but either it isn't or I am loosing it ... -- Cannot report kubuntu bug https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/521703 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
