[Bug 553003] Re: xsensors dosen't work

2010-04-02 Thread Nanley Chery
I am not using an email client, just the launchpad web interface here,
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xsensors/+bug/553003

To repeat what I said before, please test if this is still a problem
with the newest version of xsensors. You can do this by either
installing and running the program in Lucid Lynx, or by executing the
binary from the source package. The directions to create the binary are
in the INSTALL file in the orig.tar.gz archive. Once created, you can
click and run it in the 'src' folder.

Don't forget that you must have lm-sensors installed, and that you must
run 'sudo sensors-detect' before attempting to run xsensors.

then build a track of inquiry and response,. If you used the reply button on
your email program I could see what you have seen and are replying to and where
the discussion is coming from. I have no idea what you have read and what you

Oh I see, it must be because all but the i386 package was built by the buildd
system...
OK, so to test the newer version you could either try and test this in the
development version (lucid), or, from the orig.tar.gz, extract it, and run
"./configure && make && make install" in that directory. The compiled binary
should be in the ../src folder.

Re: [Bug 553003] Re: xsensors dosen't work

2010-04-01 Thread KeithH

Used link in this email and downloaded xsensors_0.70.orig.tar, opened .tar
file and read readme(~/.cache/.fr-... and see that lm_sensors 3.0.0+ program is
required to tell xsensors what is happening at the hardware level. Looked at
link and appears that a config. file needs to be made that supports motherboard
and ECS Elitegroup config file is not one that has been made. Looks like more
than I know how to do as I am new to ubuntu and not shure how to proceed.

installing the debian package found here:

This is a common problem with the old version of xsensors. This problem,
however, should be fixed with the xsensors 0.70 package in Lucid. Could
you please test it and report your results? Thanks.
