2010-10-27 Thread RedSingularity
John Wendell, I asked you a question almost a month ago, you have not
responded, so following *proper* marking instructions I marked the bug
as invalid. I will ask again thoughAre you sure that xchat is
compatible with the tray feature? If it is not compatible, which as I
have stated I believe to be the case, then I suggest we mark this as
wishlist and maybe get the feature added to the package in future
releases.

Dude, I'm not talking about tray icon plugin. I'm talking about
indicator applet (me menu), Ubuntu specific.

2010-10-05 Thread RedSingularity
Oh i see. Sorry about the misunderstanding. Are you sure that Xchat is
compatible with that feature? I know empath and pidgin are compatible
with the tray but I dont think Xchat is. I tried it over here as well
and like you said it can be put into the system tray area but it cannot
be hidden which leads me to believe that it is not coded to work with
that indicator applet.

In Xchat go to SettingsPreferencesChattingAlerts
Make sure the box that says Enable system tray icon is checked. Now when you
close it you can have it minimize to system tray.

[Bug 560142] Re: no way to hide the main window with messaging menu

2010-06-01 Thread Bryce Harrington
Please elaborate on the problem as you see it. You were able to hide
the xchat-gnome window previously? I don't use empathy so just like
empathy does doesn't really make your bug report clear.

Also, I tend to prefer that when I close xchat-gnome, that it actually
closes, so if you wish it to do this other behavior instead, some added
justification wouldn't hurt.

[Bug 560142] Re: no way to hide the main window with messaging menu

2010-06-01 Thread Jonh Wendell
if I close the window, it should just hide itself in the messaging
menu

If i quit the application (file-quit) then it must really exit.

In other words, the messaging menu should behave like the tray icon
plugin for xchat. I mean, the app is open, but it's hidden in tray
area. The same should happen with messaging menu. Empathy behaves like
that. Also pidgin in the notification (tray) area.
