Is this a dup of #62196 ? The networking related nature of both seems to
suggest it is the same porblem.

Yes, I think the two bugs are identical.

Please mark this one as a dup and close it.

Thanks!

[Bug 60126] Re: Suspend fails on linux-image-2.6.17-7-generic

2006-09-28 Thread Troels Faber
UPDATE:
The kernel panic apparently originates in nm-applet. I tried to disable
wireless.
There are two different ways of disabling wireless, hardware and software, on
the Thinkpad (Fn+F5) and using nm-applet. If I disable BOTH, suspend (and
resume) works! Since NetworkManager has not been updated recently, it is nearby
to suggest that a new version of the ipw2200 driver in the -generic kernels
have a problem with suspend...
Thanks!

2006-09-27 Thread Troels Faber
Updated to -10 kernel.
Still doesn't suspend, but does change away from X into vt1 (or something like
it), and panics there.
Kernel panic from PCI interrupt.

2006-09-26 Thread Troels Faber
Hi,
I tested both the -8 and -9 upload of generic kernels, and they both hang
during suspend. So nothing has improved with the newest kernels.

[Bug 60126] Re: Suspend fails on linux-image-2.6.17-7-generic

2006-09-15 Thread Troels Faber
** Description changed:

  Binary package hint: linux-image-2.6.17-7-generic

When running 2.6.17-6-686, suspend and resume works great.
After the switch to 2.6.17-7-generic, the suspend fails.

I am running Edgy on a IBM Thinkpad T42, with a 1,7 GHz Pentium M. The
video card is a ATI Mobility Radeon M7, running with the radeon driver.
Wireless is on and connected, using the builtin IPW2200. Bluetooth is
  off.

- gnome-power-manager notifies me that the network connection is disconnected,
and then the screen freezes. I have to power off the machine manually.
+ NetworkManager notifies me that the network connection is disconnected, and
then the screen freezes. I have to power off the machine manually.
This happens both if I trigger the suspend from the keyboard (Fn+F4) or
right-click gnome-power-manager and click suspend.

Please test the next 2.6.17 upload (within a few days) to see if it
resolves your problem.
