[Bug 61280] Re: radeonfb D2 sleep not enabled

It would appear this was resolved in the Feisty 2.6.20 release so am
marking this Fix Released. Against 2.6.17 this will be closed.
Thanks.

[Bug 61280] Re: radeonfb D2 sleep not enabled

2007-04-25 Thread Marius Gedminas
Feisty uses about 0.5 Watt while sleeping (20% battery in 16 hours of
sleep). Kernel 2.6.20-15-generic, radeonfb loaded, dmesg confirms that
it enters D2 state.

[Bug 61280] Re: radeonfb D2 sleep not enabled

2007-01-22 Thread Marius Gedminas
It appears that the radeon suspend patch in edgy partially works.

I used to get 2.5-3.5 Watt power drain during S3 sleep without the
patch, and 0.5 Watt with the patch (and radeonfb enabled).

With the kernel in Edgy I get about 1-1.5 Watt power drain in S3 sleep.
(Thinkpad T42, Radeon 7500). Sometimes this is enough for the laptop to
die if left suspended overnight.

Has anyone tried Feisty?

Any word on if this patch will make it back into edgy's kernel?

[Bug 61280] Re: radeonfb D2 sleep not enabled

2006-09-30 Thread Peter Frühberger
This bug ist still present in
2.6.17-10-generic the default kernel which was installed with the edgy beta.

if you do: sudo modprobe radeonfb force_sleep=1 the radeonfb modul gets
loaded but the D2 stuff is not used at all, so powerdrain remains.

I think the patch was not correctly applied or it is not working.

thx
Peter
