I used a wired internet connection, it is up and running and detected during the installation. I've tried a fresh installation from the LiveCD and a Wubi installation on a French W7 and both installation show the same behaviour. I have tried with normal ubiquity (not wubi) and my system was installed in Spanish, so this must be just a Wubi issue.
