Hello Vassilis, yesterday, it happened again once after rebooting. Absolutely strange, because I rebooted several times before and after that without problems into Edgy. So there is still a problem with the Microsoft Optical USB Mouse, but I can not reproduce it reliably. My guess is that is is less a kernel module problem but more a problem with upstart/udev/udev/xorg. It did not occur during the early testing stage of Edgy. I was installing from the latest RC, using linux-generic 2.6.17.10.33 Binary package hint: linux Microsoft USB mice are no longer recognized in Edgy after installation on harddisk. During LiveCD use and installation, mouse works without problems, but does not respond at all after booting into the newly installed Edgy system (x86). It seems to be a problem of loading the right kernel module in Edgy after startup, since the mouse works on the LiveCD and on Dapper and all other kind of Linux flavours.
