If the 'first_run' file not exists all works right. Protect the directory for avoid a new creation. Here’s what I found out so far: When accessing vino on Ubuntu 10.04 from both vinagre on 10.04 and 11.04, I experience a problem with not all key presses being transmitted. It seems not to be actually the case that a wrong keyboard layout is applied, since the keys that are transmitted are correct. But not all key presses are transmitted, e.g. umlauts (ä,ö,ü), the euro sign etc. are not displayed on the server. So it somehow seems that only ascii (?) keycodes are received on the server, but using the correct keyboard layout. When accessing vino on Ubuntu 11.04 from vinagre on 10.04, all keys work correctly. @georg.hoermann: So are you using a tightvnc client to log into a vino server on 11.04? That might be a hint that I falsely accused vinagre, and the actual issue is with vino. OTOH, as I only upgraded the client machine to 11.04, I thought that the bug was introduced in the vinagre client with 11.04.
