[Bug 767142] Re: Resize handles spoil almost every application

2015-07-08 Thread Bryan Quigley
I remember seeing this before. AFAICT it is fixed in at least 15.04.
Let me know (by reopening) if it actually isn't fixed.

[Bug 767142] Re: Resize handles spoil almost every application

2011-05-01 Thread Etienne Monette
Same thing here, the resize grip is really messy for any application
having a resizable window without a status bar. The resize grip is not
taken into account when placing widgets, so it will hide them. In web
browsers, it will overlap the lower button of the scroll bar. In
Code::Blocks, it will overlap some buttons. In Gimp, it will hide
information at the bottom of the toolbox, even though the tool box is
not resizable!

In Google Chrome, it will also hide the bottom button of the scroll bar
and appear in blue, it is really ugly.

Affects many mainstream applications, this really looks unprofessional.
I would rather have no resize grip than these resize grips.

[Bug 767142] Re: Resize handles spoil almost every application

2011-04-20 Thread Oli
** Description changed:

I'm using Natty in Classic mode with Clearlooks. The new overlaid resize
grip ruins the finish on about every single application I have. Here's
- Terminato above Nautilus, above Liferea: http://imgur.com/AJsmJ.png
+ Terminator above Nautilus, above Liferea: http://imgur.com/AJsmJ.png

But it also hits Gwibber, Firefox... Basically anything without a lower
  status panel.
+
+ I also see similar gunk with other themes.

I'm struggling to see how backporting this from GTK3 (as I read) was
ever a desirable idea. Is there any chance this patch can be ripped out
and kicked into touch or is this something I'm going to to have to do
  for myself?
