Does following the instructions here:
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Audio/InstallingLinuxAlsaDriverModules help
resolve the problem?

[Bug 769665] Re: [GX700, Realtek ALC888, Black Headphone Out, Rear] No sound at all

2011-06-09 Thread Fiver
Hello.
I also have a MSI GX700 laptop with ALC888 and the speakers give no sound, the
headphones work tho.
The only sound I get is trough it's internal Sub-woofer. In my search for an
easy solution that doesn't involve reverting from pulseaudio I have found that
many have this problem on the GX700 and none a solution.

[Bug 769665] Re: [GX700, Realtek ALC888, Black Headphone Out, Rear] No sound at all

2011-04-26 Thread David Henningsson
Hmm, this codec is being misconfigured. Both headphone and line-out
wants to go through 0x0c, the speaker because of the fixed links
alc880_idx_to_mixer(alc880_dac_to_idx(spec-multiout.dac_nids[i])) in
alc880_auto_create_multi_out_ctls, and the headphones because of the
fixed links alc880_idx_to_dac(alc880_fixed_pin_idx(pin)) in
alc880_auto_create_extra_out.

2011-04-26 Thread David Henningsson
You indicate the first sound test succeeded but the second one failed,
is this correct? Also, does this apply to the headphone only or the
speaker as well?
