[Bug 775747] Re: Kubuntu Natty is not installable/bootable on HP Pavilion dv6-3105er laptop

2011-06-10 Thread Kenneth
We have a HP Pavilion dv6 at work, with a Wubi-installation of Kubuntu
on it. When I performed an ordinary upgrade from 10.10 to 11.04 it
broke. Now it will not boot. It halts and the keyboard does not work.

Finally I removed the installation and tried to install 11.04 via Wubi
from scratch. The in-Windows part of the installation works well, but
when the second part after booting Kubuntu for the first time commences,
it halts to a complete stop.

Every time I reboot, Kubuntu tries to complete the installation, but it
halts at the same place. I pressed [ESC] to see the messages during
boot, and you find what I see in the attached log file (copied by hand).

When Kubuntu reaches this stage, I have to use the physical power button
to turn the laptop off. The messages on screen differs slightly from
time to time, but it always crashes at the same point.

I hope this is a help for anyone...

[Bug 775747] Re: Kubuntu Natty is not installable/bootable on HP Pavilion dv6-3105er laptop

2011-05-09 Thread Alex N
Hello, IKT. Unfortunately, I cannot check whether these workarounds work
since I do not have access to this laptop anymore (I am far from it now)
and do not know exactly when I will have the access. If I can help with
this bug in some other way - please let me know and I will try to help.
Thanks.

Do any of the workarounds on the bug you linked fix the issue?
