[Bug 776768] Re: vlc cannot open RTP network streams in natty
This doesn't appear to be a bug in ufw. If you enable the firewall, you need to allow access. ** Changed in: ufw Status: New = Invalid -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/776768 Title: vlc cannot open RTP network streams in natty To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ufw/+bug/776768/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 776768] Re: vlc cannot open RTP network streams in natty
Are you running ufw or some other FW on your machines? Then have a look what is shows in the logs. Try 'tail -f /var/log/syslog' in a terminal window. Look at it for a while so you see what is normal. Then start your programs that doesn't work. Post the output the is relevant to your machines or servers IP address. In ufw, I might look like this: [UFW BLOCK] IN=br0 OUT= MAC= SRC=192.168.1.20 DST=239.255.255.250 LEN=122 TOS=0x00 PREC=0x00 TTL=1 ID=0 DF PROTO=UDP SPT=53194 DPT=1900 LEN=102 Good luck -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/776768 Title: vlc cannot open RTP network streams in natty To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ufw/+bug/776768/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 776768] Re: vlc cannot open RTP network streams in natty
ok, so I manages to locate the problem. the firewall didn't allow me to stream from the network (that could have occurred to me...). so, some kind of new firewall configuration causes this, as I didn't have to disable it for watching RTP in Ubuntu10.10. And now, Vlc suffers form this. Any ideas how to set up my firewall to don't have to disable and reenable firewall all the time I want to watch RTP streams?
