[Bug 81396] Re: After sync palm says: HotSync operation was interrupted

2008-05-15 Thread Matt Davey
John,
This discussion relates to a specific bug backing up databases in gnome-pilot.
It's not the best place to discuss bluetooth sync issues. Are you using
gnome-pilot? If so, bluetooth synchronisation is not supported until version
2.0.16, which is not yet available in Ubuntu (as far as I know). You can try
downloading the source from gnome.org and building it yourself if you want to
give it a go.

[Bug 81396] Re: After sync palm says: HotSync operation was interrupted

2008-05-13 Thread JohnL
Can someone write this solution as a HOWTO? I have a Palm-TX that I
would like to sync w/Kontact using bluetooth but so far I only get the
Palm and PC to recognize each other but then the Palm reports the
connection could not be established. I'm hoping this discussion might
lead me in the right direction. Thanks in advance.

I had the same problem. It was indeed solved by the
'exclude_files=PmTraceDatabase' trick. Thanks!

[Bug 81396] Re: After sync palm says: HotSync operation was interrupted

2007-12-27 Thread Matt Davey
Here's a potential workaround: add PmTraceDatabase to the list of
files to exclude from the backup conduit.

To do this, edit the file '~/.gnome2/gnome-pilot.d/backup-conduit
and change the empty 'exclude_files=' lines to:
  exclude_files=PmTraceDatabase

You should probably shutdown gnome-pilot first and then restart.

[Bug 81396] Re: After sync palm says: HotSync operation was interrupted

2007-12-19 Thread FrankS
I experience similar problems here:

* xubuntu 7.10, installed evolution , gnome-pilot and gnome-pilot-conduits
* using a tungsten e2 on /tev/ttyUSB1
* Sync and Backup with pilot-xfer from comandline works perfectly

When using gnome-pilot, HotSync gets interrupted. I started gpilotd from
the commandline:

/usr/bin/gpilotd
gpilotd-Message: gnome-pilot 2.0.15 starting...
gpilotd-Message: compiled for pilot-link version 0.12.2
gpilotd-Message: compiled with [VFS] [USB] [IrDA] [Network]
gpilotd-Message: Activating CORBA server
gpilotd-Message: bonobo_activation_active_server_register = 0
gpilotd-Message: Tungsten E2 (/dev/ttyUSB1) wird betrachtet

When backup conduit is activated, gnome-pilot crashes on getting
PmTraceDatabase.pdb

(gpilotd:24153): backupconduit-WARNING **: error (Unknown error) in opening
'PmTraceDatabase'
(gpilotd:24153): gpilotd-WARNING **: Unable to open conduit!
gpilotd-Message: Synchronisation beendet

Sometimes I get a core dumped message an gpilotd dies.
I noticed pilot-xfer is not getting this db, so I tried unsetting the Backup
ATTR on the Pilot via filez, but that didnt help.

Without backup conduit activated, everything seems to work.

[Bug 81396] Re: After sync palm says: HotSync operation was interrupted

2007-10-29 Thread Fedor Isakov
I just had the same error while synchronizing my palm TX with freshly
installed Gutsy. With Feisty I never experienced anything like this, and
I changed nothing in the palm/desktop config.

After I closed the gnome-pilot dialog, the applet's icon stays green. On
any attempt to restart/pause daemon it keeps telling me the
synchronization wasn't finished I that I have to wait for it to finish.
There's no way to restart the daemon from the applet's menu.

'killall gpilotd' doesn't help either.

Surprisingly, the hotsync still works and finishes without problems,
although the gnome-pilot status window does not appear during the sync.

Note: I have Evolution window open at the time of hotsync, this may be
related.

[Bug 81396] Re: After sync palm says: HotSync operation was interrupted

2007-10-10 Thread Felipe Figueiredo
I have the same problem in Feisty.

pilot-link and jpilot work fine, for sync and backup.

Starting with a fresh base/backup directory it hangs in the database
'PmTraceDatabase', and ocasionally in the DB mentioned above.

[Bug 81396] Re: After sync palm says: HotSync operation was interrupted

2007-01-24 Thread arty
I've changed settings to use libusb, but the problem persists and even
became worse.

pilot-xfer -p usb: -s test
synchronizes folder nicely without any error. But when using gpilotd sync
doesn't finish. Now even dialog stays on the screen last lines saying either:

Backup: Making backup of ContactsBDIndex-PAdd
Backup: Making backup of PmTraceDatabase

or just:

Backup: Making backup of ContactsBDIndex-PAdd

On palm there're same error as before.
