[Bug 833312] Re: Can not connect to hidden wireless network

2018-01-06 Thread Lee Trager
The 18.04 installer is also missing the connect to hidden SSID option.
There is also no option to connect to a hidden SSID from the system
settings dropdown. I had to go into settings -> WiFi and then click on
the menu icon to finally find the connect to hidden SSID option. For new
users this is not intuitive.

[Bug 833312] Re: Can not connect to hidden wireless network

2015-04-14 Thread Matthew Paul Thomas
** Description changed:

When installing Ubuntu, I'd like to use the option Download updates
while installing. However, I use a hidden wireless network at home,
which I can not connect to using Ubiquity. This option is should be
  considered for the installer.

[Bug 833312] Re: Can not connect to hidden wireless network

2012-09-27 Thread Matthew Paul Thomas
To address my previous point, the specification for the Connect to the
Internet step now moves authentication to a standard wi-fi
authentication dialog that appears when you choose Connect That
way, subtleties like password length checking (and even non-password
authentication) don't need to be reimplemented inside Ubiquity.

Probably there should be a third radio button, Connect to a hidden
network. It would need careful layout work to show that the Password
field applies either to Connect to this network *or* Connect to a
hidden network.
