[Bug 921722] Re: NM does not respect don't show this again button on disconnect notifications

2012-03-21 Thread Nixblicker
Hey there,

i am also affected by this bug, or better inconvenient behaviour.
I tend to switch users on my 11.10 quite frequently and also use the suspend
feature a lot. At least in the second case nm connections get reset during this
procedure, thus piling up quite a lot of connect/disconnect notifications in
the notification area.
And this although I used the don't show this again button on almost every
occasion - yes it even seems to reappear in a random manner, although i am not
absolutely sure about this.

I found an elegant workaround for another application (jupiter) flooding the
notification area
(http://askubuntu.com/questions/74234/how-do-i-clear-all-gnome-shell-notifications).
Basically, you had to add the option --hint int:transient:1 to every call of
notify-send in the file /usr/lib/jupiter/scripts/notify .
But I have no clue whether a similar fix could be applied in this case, because
the notifications might not be invoked by notify-send.

Cheers,
Nix

[Bug 921722] Re: NM does not respect don't show this again button on disconnect notifications

2012-01-25 Thread Mathieu Trudel-Lapierre
That's most likely a notification coming straight from Gnome-Shell. Not
sure if you really should still have nm-applet running in that case (but
I do think so...).

Regardless, reassigning to the gnome-shell package. It would be helpful
if you could attach a screenshot of the notification that can't be
supressed, just to clarify things.

Thanks!
