[Bug 955893] Re: Mobile broadband unavailable in nm-applet

2012-04-04 Thread karaluh
. the specific steps or actions you took that caused you to encounter
the problem,

1. Plug USB broadband modem into USB port

 the behavior you expected, and

1. New mobile broadband interface becomes available in NM widget
2. Plasma Device notifier detects integrated pseudo CD flash memory with
windows drivers

the behavior you actually encountered (in as much detail as possible).

1. Plasma network manager widget doesn't show the mobile broadband device, so
I'm unable to connect with it
2. Device notifier doesn't notify me about new CD

The same behaviour can be observed in Gnome's nm-applett. I've tried two
different modems and almost all available USB ports to no avail.

2012-04-03 Thread Mathieu Trudel-Lapierre
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. Unfortunately, we cannot work on this bug because your
description didn't include enough information. You may find it helpful
to read How to report bugs effectively
http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/bugs.html. We'd be grateful
if you would then provide a more complete description of the problem.

We have instructions on debugging some types of problems at
http://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProcedures

At a minimum, we need:
1. the specific steps or actions you took that caused you to encounter the
problem,
2. the behavior you expected, and
3. the behavior you actually encountered (in as much detail as possible).
Thanks!
