Just open you file browser goto a file or folder you would like to share over the network. I know for sure, that I did not specifically download and install Samba4. Thanks for your efforts. Mine also happened as a result of upgrading to 12.04. I uninstalled Samba4 and I'm running Samba with no problems. Everything is very stable. yeah - my 1st installation of ubunti 11.4 asked to install samba 4 and I said OK. disaster.
