[Bug 236640] Re: iSCSI install fails under hardy

2009-04-11 Thread Colin Watson
Could somebody please test a current daily build with iscsi=true to see
how it behaves, and post logs if it breaks? My fix was accepted, but I
can't easily test this myself.

[Bug 236640] Re: iSCSI install fails under hardy

2009-04-11 Thread malaiwah
Colin, did you also check for the awk requirement of the
/sbin/iscsi_discovery script?
I'll try a daily build later today, but the latest Beta from Jaunty was having
this problem.

I successfully started installation of Jaunty on a OpenSolaris Zvol
(iSCSI target) using these three commands at the console (ALT-F2) before
entering my target hostname:

udpkg -i /cdrom/pool/main/g/gawk/gawk*.deb
ln -s /usr/bin/gawk /bin/awk
ln -s /sbin/iscsi-iname /usr/sbin/iscsi-iname

By the way, iscsi=true is correctly parsed by the Jaunty installer; just
make sure you are not concatenating it with -- which is at the end of
the default boot command line.

Using the daily build, I can't even get to the iSCSI target dialog: it
stops at the Detect disks action.

Here is what I found looking at the console log (sorry cannot copy/paste at
this time):

[Bug 262251] Re: phpize: configure:8184: error: possibly undefined macro: _LT_SET_OPTIONS

2009-04-11 Thread Leo Milano
Where was the fix released? For 9.04? I just tried installing php-
gtk-2.0.1 from source in 8.10 kept current, and I needed to apply the
same workaround as Alessandro (it worked for me, thanks!). If it was
fixed in 9.04, shouldn;t a patch be applied in all the supported
distributions?

I think the status should be reverted to Confirmed for now.

Thanks!

[Bug 326768] Re: mysql thinks it has crashed when it hasn't

2009-04-11 Thread Will Uther
Yeah - it looks to me like Bug 358173 is the same bug.

I find it very strange that this bug only affects mythbackend (all the
possible duplicates seem to reference mythtv). I suspect that it is
doing something strange. I reported a mysql bug because I figured that
the mysql server shouldn't behave strangely even if the client program
does weird things.

[Bug 359449] [NEW] 2.6.28-11 breaks mouse scrolling

2009-04-11 Thread iox
Public bug reported:

After updating to Ubuntu Jaunty 9.04, my PS2 IBM mouse (Model 12J3619)
has stopped scrolling with kernel 2.6.28-11-generic (i386). Booting with
kernel 2.6.27-11-generic (i386) solves the problem. Booting with another
OS also works, so I deduce it is not a hardware problem.

This mouse is a bit special. It doesn't have a wheel but a trackpoint
you push up and down (without middle click). It looks (almost) like
this: http://www.almaden.ibm.com/cs/user/tp/tpmouse1.GIF. My laptop's
external USB mouse works, but I really love my IBM PS2 :D.

I'm using a Nvidia Gforce 8400 GS with propietary drivers (version 180).
Xev doesn't print anything when I scroll, but I noticed something weird
with xinput list. The output is different with 2.6.28-11 (scroll
doesn't work) and with 2.6.27-11 (scroll works). Both outputs are
attached, and also a lspci -vvnn.

[Bug 264553] Re: add a way to prefill username field with last username used.

2009-04-11 Thread Nick Jenkins
I am testing out the pre-release of Ubuntu 9.04, but unfortunately it
only seems to have GDM version 2.20.10-0ubuntu2. Is there a chance that
we could please update to GDM 2.22 or higher? This is because 2.22 is
the version that has the upstream fix described above.

2009-04-11 Thread Adriano Mitre
Hello.

I am attaching the output of the five commands (first four + usb).

Please can you attach the outputs of the following commands:

 uname -a ~/uname-a
 cat /proc/version_signature ~/version_signature
 sudo lspci -vvnn ~/lspci-vvnn
 xmodmap -pp ~/xmodmap-pp

And if your mouse is usb, please also attach the output of this command:

 lsusb -v ~/lsusb-v

 Next, enter this command:

 xev | grep -i button

A rectangular box should appear. Place your mouse inside this rectangle
and scroll horizontally. Then, note down which button number is
mentioned in the terminal and report back.

Sorry about all the commands, but thats the information that's needed to
 resolve the bug.

[Bug 335416] Re: update manager partial upgrade fails

2009-04-11 Thread Jacob Boström
This feels like a reoccurring theme; not all files and directories are
checked if they exist in update-managers dist-upgrade code.

DistUpgradeController.py
--
947 def enableApport(self, fname=/etc/default/apport):
948 enable apoprt
949 # for jaunty and later we could use this instead:
950 # env = copy.copy(os.environ)
951 # env[force_start] = 1
952 # subprocess.call([/etc/init.d/apport,start], env=env)
953 # but hardy and intrepid do not have the force_start yet
954 if not os.path.exists(fname):
955 return
956 # copy the jaunty version of the conf file in place
957 # (this avoids a conffile prompt later)
958 logging.debug(enabling apport)
959 shutil.copy(etc-default-apport,/etc/default/apport)
960 subprocess.call([/etc/init.d/apport,start])

etc-default-apport file does not exist.

To temporarily fix your issue, execute this;

echo enabled=1 /etc/default/apport
echo maxsize=209715200 /etc/default/apport

and re-execute 'update-manager --dist-upgrade'.

Hi

Could you still reproduce the crash? Does it also appear after updating
jaunty? As you see from dependency list, python2.6 is the same you have
(2.6.2~rc1-0ubuntu1).

Bests
