[Bug 489497] [NEW] timer_delete does not cancel the thread to run the function
Public bug reported: timer_create(), when told to run a function at time expiration, creates immediately an ancillary thread (it could have created it when armed, or even better, when expired). When the timer is deleted, the ancillary thread does not get cancelled. Not even if it was created as detached. [Bug 489499] [NEW] An issue with rpc.mountd's --manage-gids option makes NFS operations hang
Public bug reported: Hardy and possibly Intrepid are affected by a bug in rpc.mountd's --manage-gids option. This was fixed upstream somewhere between nfs-utils version 1.1.3 and 1.1.4. The problem is that mountd in nfs-utils <= 1.1.2 returns a negative response if there are no GIDs found for the UID on the server. The patch to rpc.mountd is trivial and makes it return a zero-length list which the kernel will handle correctly. Even though --manage-gids isn't switched on by default until Jaunty this bug should really be fixed as it completely breaks NFS-operation and there is really no logmessage indicating what is going on. The --manage-gids option is advertised in manpages. The patch to this problem was committed to the nfs-utils git repository in commit 86c3a79a108091fe08869a887438cc2d4e1126ed My thread on linux-nfs about this issue shows my difficulties tracing the problem: http://marc.info/?t=12584725381&r=1&w=2 J. [Bug 465895] Re: BUG: Bad page state in process totem-video-thu pfn:5e25d
I recently noticed a similar problem involving swap and totem-video-thu under Karmic. When transferring a video file over samba to my computer desktop (meaning that the thumbnailer is trying to create a thumbnail for an incomplete file as it downloads), the transfer will stall while the thumbnailer jumps up to 10-15% CPU and starts writing furiously to my swap space. Admittedly, the computer is old (Pentium 4 with 256MB ram and a 500MB swap partition), but this behavior seems to be a problem. I've also been following another swap bug having to do with pulseaudio (launchpad 424655) that I think might also be affecting my system, but this behavior manifesting during file transfers seems specifically related to the thumbnailer. I've never reported a bug before, so please let me know what logs I should attach (and how best to get at them...) -- BUG: Bad page state in process totem-video-thu pfn:5e25d https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/465895 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is a direct subscriber. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 483713] Re: bluetooth interface not seen (lshw, lsusb, hciconfig) on Dell Inspiron Mini 1011 (=10v)
I want to confirm I also have this problem with my mini10v. I have not used bluetooth before, however the bluetooth icon did show in the intray, enabled, in Jaunty. Hence I doubt this is a hardware failure. -- bluetooth interface not seen (lshw, lsusb, hciconfig) on Dell Inspiron Mini 1011 (=10v) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/483713 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
