[Bug 993585] Re: Dropping WLAN connection every 7-10 minutes
Okay, I guess this is the wrong place to get support, but for about 12-18 hours now it has been working without any problems. Its still the same kernel, but the kern.log says its still deauthenticate and then authenticate again. But without me noticing. Linux jpt-ThinkPad-SL410 3.4.0-030400rc5-generic #201205011817 SMP Tue May 1 22:18:19 UTC 2012 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux So I assume that its not a kernel that has been updated, is there anyway to see which .deb packages has gotten updated after the kernel update, so that we might narrow down what actually fixed it *knock on wood* -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/993585 Title: Dropping WLAN connection every 7-10 minutes To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/993585/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 988485] Re: Abiword is slow to update the document when typing
** Description changed: When I write any text in Abiword, there is a slight lag before updating on my screen. Steps to reproduce: 1. Launch Abiword 2. Press any keys in rapid succession, for example 123, and the text 123 should appear without any lag, and at the time every single key is released. What happened instead: 1. 123 appear on screen, but with a slight lag. Instead of printing 1 then 2 then 3 at the pace I release the keys, the program lags for a split second and then print 123 as if it was in one stroke. It feels like the lag is somewhere around .5 seconds. Using gedit, libreoffice or googleoffice (or any other program) I get the expected result. I noticed that the problem is less when not having the window maximized. For example: When pressing and holding the arrow key in maximized mode, the marker disappear until I release it, having traveled down the line without showing me how the marker jumps over the letters. When doing the same thing i a smaller sized window, the marker is visible the entire time, showing me how it jumps over the letters. This suggests that the problem might in some way be related to Unity. Videos: http://youtu.be/0xhwJhWCzgk http://youtu.be/zpZVojHw3PE WORKAROUND: This bug does not appear in Unity 2D. [Bug 994533] Re: cannot install ia32-libs on Ubuntu 12.04 x86_64
But how was this inconsistancy possible? Any idea, what I did wrong? I don't think this is due to anything you did wrong; most likely, there was simply a single-bit memory or disk error that broke the checksum of your conffile. Could I found this solution by myself? Not easily, and for that I reassign the bug to dpkg rather than just closing it outright. [Bug 889961] Re: Built in webcam on Sony Vaio doestn't work, kernel emits a stream of unable to enumerate USB device on port... errors
** Description changed: This problem has been present at least since Maverick (maybe earlier), I'm reporting it only now because it started to annoy me. The hardware: Sony Vaio VPCEB1M1E (for details see attached dmidecode.log and other files). The symptoms: 1) The built in webcam on the laptop isn't detected, /dev/video0 isn't present 2) The kernel constantly logs a stream of the following errors: Nov 13 20:59:46 HOSTNAME kernel: [ 58.092603] usb 1-1.2: new high speed USB device number 83 using ehci_hcd Nov 13 20:59:46 HOSTNAME kernel: [ 58.108761] hub 1-1:1.0: unable to enumerate USB device on port 2 Nov 13 20:59:47 HOSTNAME kernel: [ 58.352608] usb 1-1.2: new high speed USB device number 84 using ehci_hcd Nov 13 20:59:47 HOSTNAME kernel: [ 58.369093] hub 1-1:1.0: unable to enumerate USB device on port 2 Nov 13 20:59:47 HOSTNAME kernel: [ 58.608501] usb 1-1.2: new high speed USB device number 85 using ehci_hcd Nov 13 20:59:47 HOSTNAME kernel: [ 58.625139] hub 1-1:1.0: unable to enumerate USB device on port 2 - I suspect that the webcam not working is related to the kernel errors, as another Vaio user has the same set of problems on Arch Linux: - https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=128322 - Note that, regardless of having a nearly identical error signature in the kernel logs, this is probably a different problem than that one: http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=635573 - The fix for that bug (incorporated into kernel version 3.0.1) probably won't help here as it's specific to nVidia hardware, which isn't present in my situation. - --- + + --- AcpiTables: - Error: command ['gksu', '-D', 'Apport', '--', '/usr/share/apport/dump_acpi_tables.py'] failed with exit code 1: Gtk-Message: Failed to load module canberra-gtk-module - Gtk-Message: Failed to load module canberra-gtk-module - - (gksu:21084): Gdk-CRITICAL **: IA__gdk_draw_pixbuf: assertion `GDK_IS_DRAWABLE (drawable)' failed + Error: command ['gksu', '-D', 'Apport', '--', '/usr/share/apport/dump_acpi_tables.py'] failed with exit code 1: Gtk-Message: Failed to load module canberra-gtk-module + Gtk-Message: Failed to load module canberra-gtk-module + + (gksu:21084): Gdk-CRITICAL **: IA__gdk_draw_pixbuf: assertion `GDK_IS_DRAWABLE (drawable)' failed AlsaVersion: Advanced Linux Sound Architecture Driver Version 1.0.24. [Bug 879895] Re: gnome-shell : skype screen sharing problem , windows disappear, panel disappears
So, funny thing. I just sat down with two computers (my ubuntu 12.04 and my husband's windows 7 netbook) and conducted a few screensharing skype calls. For some reason the only way I can execute an action is if my husband typed a short message to me in Skype. So for example I'd click CTRL + TAB and nothing would happen. Then my husband would write ok in the skype chat window and as soon as I received that message the CTRL+TAB command would go through. The best I can figure is that the only way my machine can refresh is by receiving these outside pings. It doesn't matter what it is. Just as long as it comes. So basically I can type a command into terminal and press enter. I won't see the command and it won't execute until I tell the person on the other side of the line to send me something in the chat window. Then the command is executed and their screen refreshes. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/879895 Title: gnome-shell : skype screen sharing problem , windows disappear, panel disappears To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-shell/+bug/879895/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
Re: [Bug 823155] Re: [Upstream] Impress Custom Animation Sound Effect not audible in Slide Show
If one does not make bugs this way, it is highly frowned upon, and it is not likely the bug will be addressed quickly. If programmers are able to fluently program in java, c and c++, then they would easily know how to test a simple bug in a program they themselves developed! It is clear what Stanley is trying to say, if you create an object (e.g. word art, test, shapes etc.), go click on Custom Animation in the sidebar, click Add, choose an effect from the list, click OK, click '...' to go into effect options, pick a sound, click ok, press F5 to run the show and find that custom animation sounds don't work. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/823155 Title: [Upstream] Impress Custom Animation Sound Effect not audible in Slide Show To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/df-libreoffice/+bug/823155/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 995640] [NEW] Colour issue in Eclipse with Greybird
Public bug reported: Xubuntu : 12.04 shimmer-themes : 1.3.0-0ubuntu1 Eclipse-cdt : 8.0.2-1 Gtk theme: Greybird All configurations are unmodified after fresh installation. Some fonts are hardly or not visible. First, in the editor-dropdown (CTRL+E in editor) : unselected elements font is light grey, background is dark grey, it's really hard to read. AFAICT there is no parameter in Eclipse configuration to change any of these colours. Second, in the quick outline (CTRL+L in editor) : the default font is exactly the same as the default background. The colours can be adjusted in Eclipse configuration. Enclosed: screenshots showing the problems. ** Affects: shimmer-themes (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/995640 Title: Colour issue in Eclipse with Greybird To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/shimmer-themes/+bug/995640/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 995639] [NEW] libopenal1 not installed correctly No sound at all in ut2k4
Public bug reported: I have just upgraded Ubuntu 11.10 to 12.04 64 bit. My sound works in general, but not in one of my games, UT2K4. Upon examination, I discovered libopenal1 is not correctly installed. If I look in synaptic it says it is installed. I also tried reinstalling it. The files that are supposed to be there are: /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libopenal.so.1 /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libopenal.so.1.13.0 /usr/share/doc/libopenal1/changelog.Debian.gz /usr/share/doc/libopenal1/copyright /usr/share/doc/libopenal1/examples/alsoftrc.sample.gz However, only the files in /usr/share/doc are actually installed. The 2 files: /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libopenal.so.1 /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libopenal.so.1.13.0 do not exist on my system. I attempted to file a bug directly against libopenal1, the command: ubuntu-bug libopenal1 returns an error that libopenal1 is not installed, even though synaptic says it is. Is there any way I can just get these 2 files so I can put them where they belong?
