[Bug 1620635] Re: libapparmor's aa_query_label() always returns allowed = 0 for file rules containing the "owner" conditional
FWIW, this bug was stopping the webbrowser from being able to export a PDF to the printing 'app'. This was due to content-hub using libapparmor to check if the app was able to read the path, and the webbrowser-app using an apparmor manifest which generated a rule with owner in it. It would be good to get this fixed to prevent other apps using content- hub failing to import/export. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1620635 Title: libapparmor's aa_query_label() always returns allowed = 0 for file rules containing the "owner" conditional To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/apparmor/+bug/1620635/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1668129] Re: Amazon I3 Instance Buffer I/O error on dev nvme0n1
Ok, I figured out the problem. You're using the yakkety kernel, 4.8. In the Xenial 4.4 kernel, memory hotplug auto-onlining is disabled; however in the 4.8 kernel, memory hotplug auto-onlining is enabled, so disabling the udev rule with the 4.8 kernel does nothing - the kernel's already onlined the balloon memory region. Edit your /etc/default/grub.d/50-cloudimg-settings.cfg file to add a kernel boot param "memhp_default_state=offline", e.g.: --- /etc/default/grub.d/50-cloudimg-settings.cfg.orig 2017-03-21 17:52:26.604389516 + +++ /etc/default/grub.d/50-cloudimg-settings.cfg2017-03-21 17:52:46.564462247 + @@ -8,7 +8,7 @@ GRUB_TIMEOUT=0 # Set the default commandline -GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="console=tty1 console=ttyS0" +GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="console=tty1 console=ttyS0 memhp_default_state=offline" # Set the grub console type GRUB_TERMINAL=console Then, run: $ sudo update-grub make sure you see the new boot param in your grub.cfg, e.g.: $ grep memhp_default_state /boot/grub/grub.cfg linux /boot/vmlinuz-4.8.0-41-generic root=UUID=765f00af-531a-44bc-a083-66143320d408 ro console=tty1 console=ttyS0 memhp_default_state=offline Then reboot, and when it comes back up, check to make sure memory auto-onlining is disabled now: $ cat /sys/devices/system/memory/auto_online_blocks offline Note, you still need to disable the udev memory hotplug online rule, as mentioned in previous comments. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1668129 Title: Amazon I3 Instance Buffer I/O error on dev nvme0n1 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1668129/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1672099] Re: DNS loop, >5, 000 queries per second for minutes at a time
Where does the dnsmasq package come from that is listening on 127.0.0.1? dnsmasq should normally not be listening on that address if it was spawned by NetworkManager. Do you have the 'dnsmasq' package installed instead of dnsmasq-base? dnsmasq-base can be used in a variety of scenarios as a local nameserver and/or for lxc/libvirt and other uses. dnsmasq ships a service file which by default might conflict with resolved. If you need dnsmasq to run a nameserver on that system, you would have to make sure the configuration of the whole system is such that both would not conflict. This can be achieved in two different ways: - Setting DNS= in resolved if you want to use resolved as an authoritative nameserver to provide dnsmasq with the information it needs (but not circle back to dnsmasq). - Setting 'no-resolv' and possibly other settings for the dnsmasq instance, such that it doesn't go ask systemd-resolved for nameservers, and that it does not update resolv.conf if it should not. ** Changed in: dnsmasq (Ubuntu) Assignee: (unassigned) => Mathieu Trudel-Lapierre (cyphermox) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1672099 Title: DNS loop, >5,000 queries per second for minutes at a time To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/dnsmasq/+bug/1672099/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1634462] Re: Theme directory imported-Humanity/192 of theme Lubuntu has no size field
Also shows up here: https://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=2351896 In reviewing the above proposed "solution", I found these anomalies: usr/share/icons/Lubuntu/index.theme refers to "...Humanity/192..." usr/share/icons/lubuntu/index.theme does not (N.B. "L" vs "L") Also, usr/share/icons/Lubuntu/imported-Humanity/192 only has one (yelp) icon whereas usr/share/icons/Lubuntu/imported-Humanity/48 has many (as do /32 ...) Also, usr/share/icons/lubuntu/ (lowercase "l") only has index.theme and no other files. I've seen the same error message for several other applications incuding vlc. I'm relatively new to linux and don't really know how the above is supposed to work, but this seems likely relevant to maintainers. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1634462 Title: Theme directory imported-Humanity/192 of theme Lubuntu has no size field To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/hardinfo/+bug/1634462/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1674733] Re: php_network_getaddresses since last update
I restarted php on affected servers, problem didn't come back yet. What I saw in strace / tcpdump is a dns request with rrtype 0x5100 in the question. There have been problems with libc6 updates before and there is this debconf thingy "Services that need to be restarted". This indicates a known problem with libc6 updates. php-fpm should be added to this list of services... I don't fully understand how exactly the bug "works". My working theory goes like this: php-fpm master process has lots of shared libs mmaped into memory. Those are not affected by a libc6 upgrade that changes libs on the file system. When php-fpm forks a worker process, it inherits all the maps. But the worker process does some actual work and loads (diff /proc/{$master,$worker}/maps) /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libnss_dns-2.23.so which is the *new* version and not ABI compatible with the already loaded libc6. [Bug 1631322] Re: ISST:SAN:luckyv1:While Installation, Disk detection is taking more than 4 hours for Host(Ubuntu KVM)
Canonical has no environment to reproduce this problem. If IBM were to profile this and give us some targeted fixes, we could consider them, but we do not have the resources to commit to investigating this bug. If this can be reproduced with MAAS, then it might indicate a kernel issue. Hi, thanks for reporting your issue. I think this is actually the fix for CVE-2015-5180 (due to an internal ABI change around T_UNSPEC). [Bug 1674733] Re: php_network_getaddresses since last update
Joern, yes, that's what's happening, the new libnss_dns is being dynamically loaded (dlopen'ed) but ends up querying the older libresolv/libc, and there was mistakenly an ABI change introduced to cope with CVE-2015-5180. There are currently test glibc/eglibc packages building in the https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-security-proposed/+archive/ubuntu/ppa/ that revert this change (as it breaks other things, see bug 1674532). Unfortunately, when the reversion is issued, that will likely mean needing to restart you php-fpm processes again. :( I'm terribly sorry about that. ** CVE added: http://www.cve.mitre.org/cgi- bin/cvename.cgi?name=2015-5180 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1674733 Title: php_network_getaddresses since last update To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/glibc/+bug/1674733/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Just hit this bug with our PXE provisioning system when trying to deploy 14.04. We were deploying without issues days ago. The subsequent retrieval of libcryptsetu4-udeb 2:1.6.1-1ubuntu1 fails due to wget being unable to resolve host address. [Bug 1672099] Re: DNS loop, >5, 000 queries per second for minutes at a time
What are the contents of /etc/resolv.conf when this happens? What is the output of 'dpkg -l dnsmasq\*'? What are the contents of /etc/NetworkManager/NetworkManager.conf? Your bug report shows that this system was installed with 16.10 media and then upgraded to 17.04. How long ago did you upgrade? Have you rebooted since upgrading? ** Changed in: dnsmasq (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1672099 Title: DNS loop, >5,000 queries per second for minutes at a time To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/dnsmasq/+bug/1672099/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
