[Bug 1801383] Re: the WifiSyslog apport hook (used in firefox/tb) includes SSID informations
WifiSyslog does contain SSID information. While this will be removed from the thunderbird and firefox packages, I don't think it would be appropriate to remove it from the linux kernel apport reports. For linux packages, this information is helpful in debugging wireless driver issues. While a list of access point information can be viewed as a privacy issue, the user is prompted when Apport runs if the information is suitable to be attached to the bug or not. In environments where there are privacy concerns, the user can choose to not attach the information when submitting the bug report. I am therefore closing the Apport task for this bug. Thanks! ** Changed in: apport (Ubuntu) Status: Confirmed => Won't Fix -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to the bug report. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1801383 Title: the WifiSyslog apport hook (used in firefox/tb) includes SSID informations To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/apport/+bug/1801383/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

If indeed this is a local configuration problem, you can find pointers to get help for this sort of problem here: http://www.ubuntu.com/support/community Or if you believe that this is really a bug, then you may find it helpful to read "How to report bugs effectively" http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/bugs.html. [Bug 1843946] Re: pam_sss configuration is incorrect for smartcard usage
So the change would need to be in Debian/Ubuntu (as it is not part of upstream) but the discussion if the change is rather safe should be had upstream. Since you can avoid the issue by a config change I wonder if you could drive the discussion upstream and if the change is confirmed to be reasonable I'd think this particular case would better be filed against Debian. It is unlikely/impossible to SRU the change and it seems (due to config being an option) take Delta for it. [Bug 947664] Re: Unpacking linux-headers unbelievably slow in Lubuntu Precise (Beta 1)
I have noticed this issue also S. Christian Collins. I have an Ubuntu host running Ubuntu Budgie 18.04 with three different VMs - one Ubuntu 16.04, one Ubuntu Budgie 18.04 and one Ubuntu Budgie 19.04 (the last two are running Linux kernel 5.0). Had no problems with kernel updates until three weeks ago when I had to reinstall the host machine. After I reinstalled the host with Ubuntu Budgie 18.04.3 (with linux kernel 5.0.0.x) I noticed that the kernel updates became very, very, very slow. I even got warnings about packages broken! The original installation ran Ubuntu Budgie from release (18.04.01, kernel 4.15). Also, I noticed that the same Ubuntu Budgie 18.04.03 guest VirtualBox installation took only 2 minutes to update on Windows 10 host from Linux kernel 5.0.0.27 to 5.0.0.29. One other comment is that I am using VirtualBox 6.0.10. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/947664 Title: Unpacking linux-headers unbelievably slow in Lubuntu Precise (Beta 1) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/dpkg/+bug/947664/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
