[Bug 1167080] Re: autokey-gtk crashed with UnicodeEncodeError in compare(): 'ascii' codec can't encode character u'\xf1' in position 16: ordinal not in range(128)

2020-02-17 Thread Thomas
This issue is very likely fixed in 0.95.9, which is part of Ubuntu
20.04.

This is a text encoding issue, which is gone by the port of AutoKey to Python 3.
The Python 3 version handles non-ASCII characters better than the Python2-based
version 0.90.4

If this still happens, please raise an issue at
https://github.com/autokey/autokey/issues

[Bug 1863614] Re: file-roller crashed with SIGSEGV in _gdk_window_has_impl()

2020-02-17 Thread Edson José dos Santos
How can I remember if there is no time and date stamp when the error occurred,
let alone what unzipped application was used?
I only have the report sent via ubuntu-bug.
Note: Ubuntu itself generated and identified the error sent in the usr / bin
folder .. crash

It may have been in any update via update or not.

[Bug 1842177] Re: TypeError: '>' not supported between instances of 'Version' and 'Version'

2020-02-17 Thread Shane Jaroch
I only get this when running pip3 list --oudated inside a superuser
shell.

Interestingly, it doesn't have any issues when ran with user privileges.

It would be nice to know which package is causing the issue, maybe I can
uninstall or bypass that. I would like to know which ones are out of
date, if they are system packages or have been installed locally by a
sudoer.

Thanks

[Bug 1848797] Re: After upgrading to 19.10, boot screen shows: "Error: symbol 'grub_file_filters' not found."

2020-02-17 Thread Luigi Calligaris
I also experienced the issue after upgrading from Kubuntu 19.04 to
19.10. I am also using LVM as other posters here. I solved the issue
with the usual boot from live ISO + mount/chroot + grub-install.

# Automatically added by dh_systemd_start/11.1.6ubuntu2
if [ -d /run/systemd/system ]; then
systemctl --system daemon-reload >/dev/null || true
fi
# End automatically added section

Since it is also added to the postinst script that one is obsolete,
indeed.

[Bug 1763111] Re: autokey starting maximized (not in system tray)

2020-02-17 Thread Thomas
This is caused by the KDE session restoration mechanism, which starts a second
instance.
The second instance sees the first and pings it to open the main window.

Either exclude autokey from the session restoration mechanism or
deactivate the autostart setting.

[Bug 1747878] Re: [pulseaudio] backend-ofono.c: Failed to register as a handsfree audio agent with ofono: org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.ServiceUnknown: The name org.ofono was not provided by any .service

2020-02-17 Thread yurx cherio
The resolution makes me chuckle. If this is a warning or an error in my
system log it means I need to pay attention to it. Otherwise the log
entry should not be a warning or at least it should have verbiage
hinting this is not really a warning for me (it even sounds oxymoron :D
)

As a side note, if a project emits too many warnings that need to be
ignored this leads to developers also ignoring or missing important and
relevant warnings that otherwise would be noticed. It is a bad practice
to leave warnings that can be ignored; its also often a sign that the
project needs more attention or lacks competent supervision.

This workaround don't work for my.

when the computer is initiated anf I find in this file the line
"AuthInfoRequired none" instead of "AuthInfoRequired username, password"
after I edited the file.

[Bug 1849774] Re: [snap] mailto: links don't work in chromium

2020-02-17 Thread Olivier Tilloy
It appears xdg-open isn't always able to handle mailto: hyperlinks (see
https://bugs.chromium.org/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=61942).

I filed bug #1863625 to request an xdg-email wrapper in snapd.
