https://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=201787#c14

Bug is only "fixed" for Swanky and Gnawty chromebooks. They are marked
to use a quirk, as an update breaks sound. To get a fix you should
contact with Hans de Goede (you can in bugzilla) and ask for a fix.

[Bug 1833116] [NEW] chtmax98090 not working out of the box

2019-06-17 Thread Jaime Pérez
Public bug reported:

chtmax98090 intel HD audio device doesn't work out of the box after
installing ubuntu (from 14.04 to 18.04). It shows "Dummy Output" on
audio devices.

Audio options shows device and it works if I do this:

 git clone https://github.com/plbossart/UCM.git
 cd UCM
 cp -r chtmax98090/ /usr/share/alsa/ucm/
alsaucm -c chtmax98090 set _verb HiFi set _enadev Speakers
#alsaucm -c chtmax98090 set _verb HiFi set _enadev Headphone
 alsactl store

It would be great if there were a solution to make it works out of the
box. The device (Chromebook Acer CB3-111 has it's end of life for
chromeOS in July-August, so I suppose more people with this device will
change OS perhaps to Ubuntu).

I was expecting to see in "Choose a Layout" a Variant for Spanish that
configures Chromebook's keys. In chromeos I was able to use adv page and re
page with Chrome search key + up/down.
I am able to write though.

[Bug 1833169] Re: intel_max_cstate is needed with baytrail to aviod hangups

2019-06-21 Thread Jaime Pérez
Hi,

intel_idle.max_cstate=1 DOES provide a workaround (no freezes, but high
battery usage).

The patch is going to get into 5.2 merge window apparently, so I will
test it in that moment (in 4 weeks). Perhaps I will compile a kernel
with the patch, but is difficult with this hardware.

2016-05-07 Thread Jaime Pérez
Well, I can't change kernel, as I'm using chromeos chroot. But I don't
know if its a kernel issue or a xorg-video-intel one.

[Bug 1619617] [NEW] always focus passwords prompts

2016-09-02 Thread Jaime Pérez
*** This bug is a security vulnerability ***

Public security bug reported:

Sometimes (when opening chromium and being asked for password) I start
to type the password and I lose focus sudently by another app. This can
be used to steal passwords making an application to gain focus when a
password prompt is opened. It would be better to allow change focus only
clicking twice on another place, so it can't be changed by accident,
what would make that password became visible on the terminal, for
example.

[Bug 1562543] [NEW] google passwords shown without asking user password

2016-03-27 Thread Jaime Pérez
*** This bug is a security vulnerability ***

Public security bug reported:

If user session is active and someone gets into chromium settings, user
passwords can be seen withount any security step (in windows, user
password is asked before showing passwords). As with chromebooks ubuntu
is not locked when suspended, all my passwords are available to anyone.
So It would good to put an authentication step before showing user
passwords.

Well, but not everyone knows to use a keylogger. But if you put them
pwds in their face... The problem is that chromebooks's crouton's ubuntu
doesn't lock session when closing lid.

[Bug 1564585] [NEW] make an virtual package for updating to latest video drivers available

2016-03-31 Thread Jaime Pérez
Public bug reported:

I would like to be able to install, for example, wily video
drivers/kernel/mesa easily. For example, I install a package called
"mesa-lts-wily" or better "wily-video-drivers" and it selects all needed
packages to make the transition, instead having to select them
individually. Another one such as "vivid-enablement-package" that
installs vivid kernel, vivid mesa, vivid xorg, etc.

[Bug 1574281] [NEW] screen touch text selection issue

2016-04-24 Thread Jaime Pérez
Public bug reported:

When I long press a word, it's marked and 2 blue leaves appear on
borders. I suppose that, as in Android, they should allow me to select
more or less text, but when I click on them they are not recognized and
I get same behaviour as if I was clicking anywhere else. The same
happens when I select an area of the text. A blue leaf appears and when
I touch on it, the behaviour is not the expected one.

I have a doubt. In http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/ do
developers of ubuntu post their kernels? Ubuntu uses those kernels
later? I mean, changes done in the ppa are the same that in the ubuntu-
kernel?

[Bug 1275116] Re: lowlatency-flavour crashes and locks up alot

2014-02-21 Thread Jaime Pérez
And soren you said

The 3.11 flavour that where upgraded to 3.13 today crashed 10 times this
morning. I have the crashdums, but I figured that it might have been
solved in 3.13. Unfortunatly it seems like it is not.

I will add crashdumps when I get crashes that do not just lockup the
machine but currently I have only seem complete lockups with 3.13

So the essense is :

3.11-lowlatency crashed 10 time today most of the crashes reached the console
so I could see the panic text.
3.13-lowlatency crash 1 time 10 minuttes after first boot. No VT swtich. During
next reboot it also locked.

but then 3.11 works OK?
