[Bug 285654] Re: f-spot error with italian install ~/Photos no such file or directory
Same problem with Ubuntu 8.10 final (amd64 and i386). F-spot complains that photos directory does not exist. It should look for Bilder as I am from Germany and so use german localisation. I also can't change the default import directory of f-spot. It's just greyed out. Another thing (different from this bug): I have no sidebar with the tags anymore. [Bug 302596] Re: Evince doesn't print all content of pdf-file to PS-printer but to PCL-printer
I tried xpdf-reader a second ago and could not print as my PC is connected via jet-direct-card as my PC doesn't have a parport and I don't know how to connect to the printer via lpr as it is the only option in xpdf-reader. But I have found xournal (GTK+ application for notetaking, sketching and keeping a journal using a stylus. It can also be used to add annotations to PDF files.) and I don't know why but it prints the page I added as orig. to this report perfectly (but slow as hell). So the problem seems to be related to evince (or something related with evince and printing) as xournal prints ok. [Bug 355155] Re: Clocksource tsc unstable leads to lockups in Ubuntu Jaunty
After I had the same problems as descripted in this report I decided to give jaunty a last chance: a complete newinstall. Before I had the 64bit Version of Ubuntu 9.04 (cleaninstall) and it crashed as reported without any for me obvious reason several times the day. Now I tried the 32bit version with the same problems in the begining. But: at some point It looked for me that my wifi-card maybe the problem as it had problems to connect to my AP. Dmesg gave me something like phy0: tx overflow. So I removed it from my PC and no problems since 6 hours while using the PC as with the old installation. It's not that long but at least a begining :-) For my PC: AMD Athlon64 4850e Asus M3A-H/HDMI with onboard grafic and discrete ATI RadeonHD 3470 (Hybrid Crossfire) fglrx 9.6 Allnet all0271 Wifi-Card -- removed Ubuntu 9.04 32bit ext3 Linux bruno 2.6.28-13-generic #44-Ubuntu SMP Tue Jun 2 07:57:31 UTC 2009 i686 GNU/Linux All in all I have not installed all software that I had installed before in the 64bit-installation but that seems to be no problem as Jaunty 32bit crashed even without all the software (as possible sources of errors) installed. Maybe that helps as if I remember right someone else had the idea with some sort of a wifi-problem before. -- Clocksource tsc unstable leads to lockups in Ubuntu Jaunty https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/355155 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 337283] Re: Laserjet 4 5M: Printout not in the middle of paper but a bit off to the right side
I printed the CUPS Testpage (now with 10.10) and I think I found the problem. The Mediendruckgrenzen (don't know the translation) are different. I think it translates to something like the area where something can be printed. PCL (HP LaserJet 5M - CUPS+Gutenprint v5.2.6): Mediendruckgrenzen 0.14 x 0.17 bis 8.12 x 11.53 Zoll 4 x 4 bis 206 x 293 Millimeter Treibername STP01545.PPD PS (HP LaserJet 5M Foomatic/Postscript) Mediendruckgrenzen 0.25 x 0.50 bis 8.01 x 11.19 Zoll 6 x 13 bis 204 x 284 Millimeter Treibername POSTSCRI.PPD I wonder why the same printer has different Mediendruckgrenzen. [Bug 588713] [NEW] Lucid: possibly memory leak in CUPS?
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: cups I tried 2 times to print a PDF (~7 MB = 225 pages) to my HP LaserJet 5M per evince and with the PCL-driver (not Postscript). - The first time (pages 1-225) at some point the PC slows down to a crawl with much disk activity until Gnome more or less died. Died means Gnome didn't response anymore and I could at some point only see the silhouette of the programs that where open... means: I could see where my programs have been but could not see their content. From that first try I will attach the relevant part from my syslog. As I needed the PDF to get printed out and wanted to try to reproduce the problem I started... - The second time (pages 141-225). This time with the Systemüberwachung (systemmonitor?) on my desktop so I could see what happens to my RAM. I will attach a screenshot which will show the slowly growing amount of RAM used while printing. This time syslog shows nothing of interesst. Gnome just froze and I had to reboot. Maybe interessting details: Ubuntu 10.04 64bit My PC has 2GB of RAM and 2,3 GB swap. The PDF in question is a 7MB monster with a copied dissertation -- means: someone copied the paperpages and put the resulting images in that PDF. I can't upload it as I had to pay for it and I think that the copyright owner would not like to see me uploading his work to launchpad :-) The first print job (pages 1-225) was about ~30 MB in size. The second one (pages 141-225) about ~10 MB. At least that was shown to me after clicking on the icon for the print jobs in queue. My LaserJet has 22MB RAM in total. I tried to print 2 pages from the PDF to one paper page to cut down the paper usage. [Bug 588713] Re: Lucid: possibly memory leak in CUPS?
The third time I tried to print the last needed pages (185-225). This time I tried to print from my IBM X31 with 1GB of RAM and a 10.04 32bit clean install (I forget to mention that the before mentioned PC was updated from Beta 1 till today). Also I could see the RAM usage rise to the celling of 1GB the Notebook is equipt with it does not make any problems. Print job finished and RAM was freed in the end. As I have not enough paper to try the whole process from that notebook I can't try to reproduce it there. So maybe it's just a problem with that special sort of PDF and it is totally normal to consume so much RAM while printing a big PDF? Never observed that behavior before but I also had not looked at it either. -- Lucid: possibly memory leak in CUPS? https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/588713 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 654264] [NEW] Gameserver reports modified maps -- wrong md5sum of *.ogz?
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: sauerbraten-data I am using Ubuntu 10.04 (amd64) and installed the following packages from maverick - sauerbraten_0.0.20100728.dfsg-2_amd64.deb - sauerbraten-data_0.0.20100728-1_all.deb in order to play the latest sauerbraten without any problems. Problem is that some servers check somehow (maybe md5sum) if you use modified maps and report them so admins could for example kick you for using modified maps. So after installing those two packages an admin of psl.sauerleague.org (gameserver) told me to not use modified maps. But as I had the packages just installed before I went playing I couldn't have edited them... not even by accident. I checked the md5sum of the map I was accused to have modified and compared the md5sum to the map included in the tar.bz2 which could be downloaded from sauerbraten.org - sauerbraten_2010_07_28_justice_edition_linux.tar.bz2 and they don't match. - *.tar.bz2 md5sum shipwreck.ogz 4c0c8d6fec4ff1389bf958a683c931e0 shipwreck.ogz - *.deb md5sum shipwreck.ogz f0354e7fa6b4561328e45333628c2d04 shipwreck.ogz There are some more maps where the md5sum don't match. So it would be cool if the package could be checked.
