[Bug 59305] problem with specifying size as a percentage

2006-09-07 Thread Shashank
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: tilda

Tilda does not allow me to set the size of the window that pops up using
the slider. Whatever i select, and click on ok, it automatically resets
to 0. This means when i hit F1 tilda opens theoretically but its size is
zero and is invisible. I donot know if it is accepting input at that
time

** Affects: tilda (Ubuntu)

 Status: Unconfirmed

[Bug 285583] Re: update-notifier crashed with SIGSEGV in __libc_start_main()

2008-10-18 Thread Shashank
I just recreated this bug. I too did the same thing. Logged into guest session
and as soon as I switched back, the update-notifier crashed.
Trying to start update-notifier from the command line did not help. It produced
nothing on the terminal nor did it launch

[Bug 252178] [NEW] Incorrect used memory reported by system-monitor

2008-07-26 Thread Shashank
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-system-monitor

Hi,

I've seen the bugs listed on the launchpad before writing this.

There is a significant difference in the used memory reported by
top/free and gnome-system-monitor.

I'm using Ubuntu 8.4 and updated till todays date.

I;ve 2GB of ram on my laptop. running top / free reports, that 1.5 GB is
used while at the same time, system-monitor reports on y 436MB is used
and rest is free.

Its really consistent, every time I run top / free, I get same number
and at the same time running system-monitor reports way to less.?

Can something be done about this?

Kind regards

Shashank

[Bug 783926] [NEW] Drag-Drop works only on --replace (ubuntu-classic session)

2011-05-17 Thread Shashank
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: compiz

Cannot drag-drop things between different applications on startup
(Ubuntu-Classic Session).
Eg: When I drag a .mp3 file to the banshee tab in the bottom panel, it just
stays with a + sign over the banshee icon, banshee does not get selected while
dragging the file. If I drop it there, it gets added to the panel.

However, if i do 'compiz --replace' in the terminal, it starts working after
that.
And I have to replace after every boot.

My compiz was in the default settings so I don't think any changes might
be the reason for that.

[Bug 812864] Re: Totem crashes once it has finished playing the last song on the playlist

2011-07-19 Thread Shashank
@Pedro: i would definately do so, but Im using Ubuntu 11.04. It says apport is
installed.
And this is at I have of sudo find / -name apport

/var/lib/update-rc.d/apport
/etc/logrotate.d/apport
/etc/default/apport
/etc/cron.daily/apport
/etc/apport
/etc/apport/blacklist.d/apport
/etc/init.d/apport
/usr/share/pyshared-data/apport
/usr/share/apport
/usr/share/apport/apport
/usr/share/pyshared/apport
/usr/share/doc/apport
/usr/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/apport
/usr/lib/python2.6/dist-packages/apport

so apparently, there is no /etc/default/apport

there is a /etc/apport directory which has these files:

blacklist.d crashdb.conf crashdb.conf.d

Could you pls help me some more with it?

2011-07-19 Thread Shashank
@Pedro: I have to Forde quit totem once its finished with the list, but even
after enabling apport, I dont find a .crash file.
I searched for a .crash but its not there.

I even realised that the fast forward, backword, next buttons dont work, nor
can it jump to any time.
So ill use apport-bug totem to file a new bug.

[Bug 653411] Re: package tex-common 2.08 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 1

2010-10-03 Thread Shashank
I read the log files and they said the error was caused due to a unsupported
zlib installation.
I had previously installed zlib version 1.2.5 in my system which was not what
the installation script expected.

Once i removed the links to that zlib version, it works fine.

This is NOT a bug anymore.

Thanks,
Shashank

[Bug 1029082] Re: 10de:1040 Installation of Nvidia Current Driver fails

2013-08-12 Thread Shashank
Hi Christopher,

My display now works fine in 12.04. But I still ran that command in case
the data helps.

However, apologies I ran this command on 12.04. I will have to install
Ubuntu 13.10 for this and then test right? Can I do that on a virtual
machine? Would the results vary?

[Bug 1786039] [NEW] Upgrade from 16.04.5 to 18.04.1 crashes with message unable to resolve upgrade

2018-08-08 Thread Shashank
Public bug reported:

On running update-manager -c no new upgrades are seen. But with the -d
option, the upgrade to 18.04.1 becomes available. On choosing to
upgrade, it finishes the first step ("preparing to upgrade"). A pop up
appears saying that third party sources are disabled, and can be re
enabled later on. However, on the next step ("Setting new software
channels") it crashes with the message: "Could not calculate the
upgrade, an unresolvable error occurred while calculating the upgrade".
