[Bug 342775] Re: When I connect Huawei E220 mobile broadband modem, 3G mobile modem connection appears twice.

2009-03-30 Thread Sokolowski
The problem is still there in 9.04 beta.
Upon plugging in, two dialogs appear to ask me about preset settings. I close
one then i choose Poland-Play Online.
Two entries are created, and it won't connect despite numerous tries.
Don't know what commands to use or diagnoscs, so please tell me and i'll
provide you with their output.

[Bug 267658] Re: Azalia sound doesn't work at all

2009-10-09 Thread Sokolowski
@Leann Ogasawara

Ok, so i dl'ed it and burned. I haven't installed it, as i have no
possibility of installing it right now, will update it in a few days
when i install it.

For now, Ubuntu beta, booted from livecd + ALC660 = nope, it doesn't.

And that's where it begins to be funny. I can't start terminal, so no
errmessages, no alsa-checking. I have a can't start gnome-terminal.
Imput/output error error. When i have the possibility to install it to
HDD, i'll check further. If i can't start the terminal then, i make a
new bug entry here. If i can, i'll check all the setting, and will try
changing alsa-base.conf file.

[Bug 267658] Re: Azalia sound doesn't work at all

2009-11-01 Thread Sokolowski
Ok, e.lamskoy, i tried to do what you;ve said. And i'd say, i was
finally able to make the GODDAMN sound card work!

There are some problems, but not with the sound, but rather, with
something i'd call 'general look. It boots ok, but there are 3 error
messages (i can't read them, it flashes too soon, first is BAR6:
address space collision, second is Ata1: softreset failed, and the
third is Can't find a suitable fs in /proc/, is it mounted? )

Then, when gnome boots up, there's no wallpaper for about 10 seconds,
but a black screen and two gnome bars.

So, i'd love to get something about these problems, as although they're
not important at all, they just annoy me.

Also, i'd love to see the solution added to the mainstream linux
distributions / linux kernel (frankly, i don't know where it should
go?).

By the way, two notes to e.lamskoy.
First, i couldn't find modprobe.conf. I added the line to
/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf
Second, when i tried to find it, i couldn't find modprobe.conf, but i found
noAlsa.modprobe.conf and noOSS.modprobe.conf. Thinking there was a problem
there (dunno why) i erased everything in the file. What these two files are
for? Although sound works anyway, i'm curious.

[Bug 267658] [NEW] Azalia sound doesn't work at all

2008-09-08 Thread Sokolowski
Public bug reported:

Distro - Ubuntu 8.10 Alpha 5
Ok, so my sound card in my Asus a7u 7s004c (detected as Azalia) works wery
strange, or rather, i shall say, doesn't work at all.
No sound can be heard from speakers nor when using headphones. I can mute,
vol-, vol+ using fuction buttons. Tested by playing the examples.
None of the earlier versions of ubuntu could play anything, back to Edgy.

Very strange thing is, i decided to play that robot game. And, when
teleporting or when winning a round, i can hear some sort of strange
static for about 1 second in headphones. The static is different when
teleporting than when winning, so i assume as if the soundcard tried to
play something, but failed. This sound can't be heard on the speakers.

[Bug 1909457] Re: Support CML-S CPU + TGP PCH

2021-05-01 Thread Christian Sokolowski
Some release notes or a readme would be very helpful. I tried several
ways to run patch to install the intel patch and no luck. It seems many
are being affected by this and currently the only work around is to use
the 20.04b OEM kernel.

[Bug 1905466] Re: drm/i915: Drop force_probe requirement for Rocket Lake

2021-05-03 Thread Christian Sokolowski
My rocket lake CPU (i11900k) on a Z590 Asus motherboard will only boot
dual monitors on 5.10.0-1023-oem. Kernels below that will boot a single
monitor (display port) if I enable i915.force_probe=. Kernels above
5.10 such as 5.11, 5.12 and several other variants including some of the
nightlies and drm-intel-next will NOT boot. They hang on boot at "fb0:
switching to inteldrmfb from EFI VGA"

I am a bit of a newbie but let me know how I can help. If you need logs
tell me how to get the ie what command.
