[Bug 192471] [NEW] Copy Pasted partition inherits an identical UUID
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gparted If you use parted to Copy Paste a partition, then it will have an identical UUID. While that may be the correct behaviour for pasting on a different disk, when the partition is on the *same* disk (e.g. you want to migrate /home to a separate partition without messing around with cpio/tar/cp) then it's almost certainly incorrect behaviour. In this day and age of mounting by UUID, having multiple partitions with the same UUID is disastrous and very confusing: * The output of mount is incorrect * You have no idea which one is being mounted * umount gets confused and refuses to let you unmount the correct partition You can recreate this easily using a flash drive. [Bug 228247] [NEW] Update-manager requires connectivity to changelog.ubuntu.com - mirrors don't work
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: update-manager The upgrade manager needs to download http://changelogs.ubuntu.com/meta- release before it will display an Upgrade button. For firewalled machines with a local mirror and machines requiring NTLM- authenticated proxy access, there is never an upgrade button. Even if there is a complete local mirror. Observed on the Gutsy-Hardy upgrade. We run a local FTP mirror, and our users have not been getting the option to upgrade, because outside connections to port 80 are firewalled. (NTLM proxies preferred). We worked around this by setting up a special proxy for meta-release. Preferably the meta-release file should be moved to archive.ubuntu.com where the mirrors can carry it, and update-manager can get it from a local mirror. If this isn't possible, a configurable location would at least help our users. Re: [Bug 127610] Re: Pre-build kqemu modules
Hi Walter (2007.11.01_21:20:12_+0200) obviously kqemu-source should continue to be provided as non-standard kernels may not have prebuilt modules. That doesn't apply to other modules prebuild by ubuntu. [Bug 105638] Re: MacBook iSight (uvcvideo) work in 2.6.20-12 but not in -1[345]
It seems that gutsy beta now supports the iSight out of the box. -- MacBook iSight (uvcvideo) work in 2.6.20-12 but not in -1[345] https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/105638 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 124662] Re: Master volume control has no effect on headphones
It appears to be more complex than I thought. In Gutsy beta, the Master controls some speakers in the laptop, and Front, others. Front controls headphones. So the correct thing to do is select Front Master for both Gnome Sound settings and the Volume control applet preferences. -- Master volume control has no effect on headphones https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/124662 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
