And for me it is still useless because it can't found my N95 phone. And
you know what? In gnome Bluetooth manager it is OK.

On Acer 5930g, it is now OK, but with the latest Lucid Kernel (via
updates), it does now on Asus B50A. Next week I'll test it more
throughly and refer here.

[Bug 572951] [NEW] wake-up from suspend-to-RAM ends with blackscreen

[Bug 572951] Re: wake-up from suspend-to-RAM ends with blackscreen

2010-05-01 Thread Tommy_CZ
I tried to install 2.6.33-3 but with this, fglrx coudln't be configured after
install so it was unusable. I uninstalled it, removed fglrx (I had to change
"xserver-xorg-fglrx" to "fglrx" in /var/lib/dpkg/diversions to uninstall it),
again installed fglrx from lucid repository, ran "ati-config --initial -f" from
terminal and voila!... suspend to ram and rebooting works again OK.
I am very satisfied with Kubuntu, I love it (gnome or KDE version) but tell me
honestly - do you think it was OK i had to do this? I ran upgrade to 10.04 on 4
computers and on all of them I had problems during upgrade and big problems
after it (uninstalled plasma-desktop etc.). How I could imagine I have to
change line in /var/lib/dpkg/diversions? Or why installation via jockey still
doesn't work? And why without properly working fglrx drivers reboot and suspend
to ram doesn't working? Look, I like configuring etc. but all of my friends,
who now uses 10.04 (upgraded by me from 9.10) wouldn't do it, because it is
just complicated and the solution is very hard to find even for me, they would
just say "Ubuntu is crap, give me the old good windows without so complicated
commands in terminal..." ://

[Bug 515823] [NEW] Logout from Kubuntu 9.10 is not possible anymore

2010-02-01 Thread Tommy_CZ
Public bug reported:

Suddenly (I didn't upgrade etc.) I wasn't able to logout from KDE4.3.5
(Also from KDE4.3.95). First time I push for example ctrl+alt+del and it
shows me posibilities (logout, restart...) but when I click on it, it
dissapears and nothing can be done. After that, I cannot go even to this
"exit" menu. I removed all kde-related packages via synaptic, deleted
~/.kde folder, reinstalled KDE but didn't help. It does just with my
account, others aren't affected.

[Bug 515958] [NEW] PulseAudio in KDE doesn't work with 2.6.32.7 kernel

2010-02-02 Thread Tommy_CZ
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: kdebase-workspace

I upgraded kernel 2.6.32.7 and the sound in KDE stopped working. Gnome

settings (pulseaudio, esound, HDA intel etc.) and nothing works in KDE.
With 2.6.32.4 sounds are OK.

[Bug 539458] [NEW] Phonon (probably phonon) switches audio device when trying to play music from ALC888 to PulseAudio

2010-03-16 Thread Tommy_CZ
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: phonon

Phonon (probably phonon) switches audio device when trying to play music from
ALC888 to PulseAudio in KDE4.x. If I remove pulseaudio, the audio doesn't play.
I use Alsa 1.0.22.1, with this version the frequency of appearing this bug is
lesser, but still occurs. I heard that Kubuntu doesn't work properly with
PulseAudio (information from some KDE4 maintainers), I can confirm it, I have
to use two mixers and after restart OS the PulseAudio mixer is muted by
default, but the Analog ALC888 doesn't work at all!
Thanks for any help.

I use Acer 5930g, Kubuntu 9.10 x64, Kernel 2.6.31-20

[Bug 558733] Re: [Lucid] Resume after suspend not working on T61 ( nvidia ) - with Audigy 2 ZS notebook

2010-04-11 Thread Tommy_CZ
Same to me with Acer5930g, NVIDIA9600GT, NVIDIA drivers from nvidia web
page, because jockey cannot install nvidia-current drivers correctly.
After wake up from suspend to RAM, the kubuntu says that there is no
usable conf. in xorg.conf and I have to reinstall the drivers. Same
option box as when you update kernel and forgot reinstall NVIDIA driver.

[Bug 587160] [NEW] Typing very slows down computer with kubuntu 10.04

2010-05-29 Thread Tommy_CZ
Public bug reported:

Hi, I use Kubuntu 10.04 64bit and with kernel 2.6.32.13-4, and with 2.6.33.4
the typing is painfully slow. It appears when I do not use my laptop for hour
or more and start typing, for small time it writes ok (e.g. for 4 seconds) and
another 4 seconds it freezes the whole system and this repeats all the time I
write. Filling this bug is also painfully for me due to this :/
Thank you for any help, I can add all other needed information if you tell me
what kind of... :o)

[Bug 522395] [NEW] Cannot write czech letters after update

2010-02-15 Thread Tommy_CZ
Public bug reported:

I updated my Kubuntu 9.10 x64, KDE4.4, kernel 2.6.31.19.
I use czech and czech keyboard. But there aren´t all of special czech letters
(ě,š,č,ř,ž,ý,á,í,é etc.)
It is normal to type them by pushing the button with up-comma and then for
example e,s,c,r etc. But after this update, it broke and if I wanna to type the
long "o" (ó), it writes ´o ... In the gnome apps, firefox and even in the kdm
login windows it works perfectly. Thank you for the response.

[Bug 1774950] Re: Suspend fails in Ubuntu and Kubuntu 18.04 but works fine in Ubuntu and Kubuntu 17.10 (and on Kubuntu 18.04 using kernel 4.14.47)

2018-11-22 Thread Tommy_CZ
I have same problem in Lenovo laptop with intel CPU, SSD.
With 16.04 it worked. In 18.04 it worked few days ago, now it doesn't work and
using other kernel versions doesn't help, so I suspect it is not fault of newer
kernel.

[Bug 1633391] Re: Ubuntu doesn't boot anymore {REGRESSION}

2016-11-20 Thread Tommy_CZ
Latest kernel (4.8.2 I think) can boot IF I go to grub settings (to choose that
kernel).
Without it even that kernel ends in that panic error.

[Bug 1273671] Re: Unity DASH is confusing for newbie

2014-06-03 Thread Tommy_CZ
Well, I used two "somethings", is it too much for you?
So before I will try to make some mockup...I will try to explain it more.

A) there is a plenty of space all around, but mainly, when you hover
your pointer on DASH, it slightly changes the background to some with
more opacity, where there is something clickable. But in the finall it
looks wierd, when you can click in the right side and open the button on
the left side with it. But OK, I cannot say it it the wrong way, BUT...

The problem is - DASh is divided into rectangles, but do not show it to
a customer - user, he has to find it by himself and that can be really
confusing.

B) DASH cannot use blank space. Please look at
http://180016988.r.cdn77.net/wp-content/uploads/2014/04/Menu_019.png ,
there is a lot of space between "Weather" text and "Weather channel"
icon for example. Shrink it or place there some separator (shiny white
bar for example, but this way it is just ugly.

Take a look at OMGUbuntu.co.uk article:
http://www.omgubuntu.co.uk/2014/06/os-x-10-10-feature-ubuntu-already

And to the screenshot: http://www.omgubuntu.co.uk/wp-
content/uploads/2014/06/f1401729844-750x420.jpg

You guys really are not catching the train, hurry up, or they will
override not only your DASH, but all convergence system at all.
