[Bug 297603] Re: blinking ASCII characters after logging out of kde

2008-11-16 Thread Cictani
Reading the bug report in bugs.debian.org helped me to solve the
problem.

I just added the line:

TerminateServer=true

to the kdmrc file

[Bug 298441] [NEW] translated kde handbooks missing

2008-11-15 Thread Cictani
Public bug reported:

There are no translated kde handbooks included with kubuntu.

if you press F1 and the english version will appear even if you selected
another language in kde.

The vanilla kde contains localized handbooks for almost every kde
program, so why aren't they included with kubuntu?

[Bug 297603] [NEW] blinking ASCII characters after logging out of kde

2008-11-13 Thread Cictani
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: kdm

System:

Description:Ubuntu 8.10
Release:8.10
graphic card: nvidia geforce 8400gs
kdm-version: 4:4.1.2-0ubuntu13

What I expect:

After logging out the login screen should appear so I can log in again

What happens insted:

X Server hangs and displays blinking ASCII characters (see attached
image)

How to reproduce:

1. Start KDE session
2. Log out of kde session

This problem only occurs when using the nv driver. If I use the nvidia
driver kdm won't hang up. With gdm the hole problem doesn't exist.

[Bug 133712] Re: [Gutsy] Rhythmbox crashes X-Server

2007-10-27 Thread Cictani
I have no time to debug these things and I don't use Linux as my main
operating system (I just use it from time to time only to see that it is
still so backwarded and full of bugs that it is not usable for people
who just want to do their stuff) so I don't care at all about that bug.

Why do you guys ask for bug reports if you don't care? That'll be my
last bug report I make for an ubuntu distribution since nobody seems to
care and just wants me to do the work to fix the bug.

Have fun with your buguntu.

Where is the button to delete the own launchpad account?

[Bug 119467] Re: make non-essential packages Recommends and not Depends

2007-06-11 Thread Cictani
If peaple deinstall a default application they choose not to use the
kubuntu-desktop default package selection so kubuntu-desktop is removed.

If new packages are added in a new release they will not get them by
default because they choose not to use the default package selection.
They can however install them manually, so where is the problem?

You have to decide between default package selection and customized
package selection you can't have both.

aptitude installs recommended packages by default apt doesn't.

[Bug 119467] Re: make non-essential packages Recommends and not Depends

2007-06-10 Thread Cictani
I don't understand the problem.

kubuntu-desktop is just a meta package so if you deinstall one of it's
dependencies you don't have installed the kubuntu-desktop meta package
anymore so it will be removed. (and only kubuntu-desktop package not its
other dependencies)

And no apt does not install recommends by default.

So it is not a bug it's a feature.

[Bug 115644] KDE help: Search uses different language prefix

2007-05-19 Thread Cictani
Public bug reported:

Hi,

If I search with KDE help I get the following output:

khc_htsearch.pl --docbook
--indexdir=/home/andreasw/.kde/share/apps/khelpcenter/index/
--config=kde_application_manuals --words= --method=and --maxnum=5
--lang=en

As you can see it uses en as prefix but it should use de (because my kde
is localized for german). This bug also occurs if you create a new
search index. It will only index documentation in the en directory.

Best regards

Cictani

[Bug 77001] Re: 6.10: KDE Mouse Gestures don't work

2007-02-01 Thread Cictani
Hi,

well the problem is that I could not reproduce this bug again. It only
happened once on my computer. I think it was more my fault because I had
done some updates and did not restart kde so most probable this was the
reason for that behavior.

But if you are still interested in activating mouse gestures you have to
go to

system settings - Accessibility - Hot Keys (only have the german
version so maybe the names vary) and in the general Option Tab you will
find a check box which by default deactivates the mouse gestures. After
unchecking this checkbox and applying the settings you will be able to
use mouse gestures i.g. in Konqueror.

[Bug 78985] Make totem-xine the default for totem

2007-01-12 Thread Cictani
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: totem

Hi,

I feel that totem-xine is better for video playback than totem-
gstreamer. I recently tried to playback a Video DVD. I installed every
required package and I was able to playback the movie but I could
neither select my audio language (just stopped to play any sound) nor
got any menus.

After pausing and resuming playback was very slow and I had to
completely stop and play it from the beginning...

Also totem-gstreamer doesn't work very goot with w32codecs (I know it is
not included in the distribution...).

After I had installed totem-xine all worked perfecty (DVDs with menus
and language selection, w32codecs and so on). So why don't you just make
totem-xine the default and save us users a lot of time which we lose by

 1. figuring out what is wrong with the video player and
 2. to find out that we can use another engine for video playback.
