Re: [ubuntu-in] new to kubuntu
Hi I would tell u to get the gstreamer packages from the Ubuntu repositories. There are gstreamer-good gstreamer-bad and gstreamer-ugly packages that solve my problem. As you are new to Ubuntu, you can get the Ubuntu repositories over Package-Manager. -- ubuntu-in mailing list ubuntu-in@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-in

Hi Saurav Thanks for all your support. But the problem is I have got Reliance Broadband Netconnect+ HUAWEI EC168C data card (usb) and it is not working in my KUBUNTU 9.10 KARMIC . In windows it gets automatally detected but here it is automatically detected as a CD rom. How can i install it in my KUBUNTU 9.10 ?? When it is detected as CD-ROM, reboot the computer, and then check if it is still detected as a CD, if it does, again reboot. After that you might have to run sudo modprobe usbserial product=productid vendor=vendorid then check if /dev/ttyUSB0 and /dev/ttyUSB1 exist or not; And then run sudo wvdialconf then add the correct phone number, username and password in /etc/wvdial.conf and check if a line like Stupid Mode = 1 exists in /etc/wvdial.conf. If all this works out properly, then try sudo wvdial and this should connect you to internet. There is apparently another way of doing this using the Netowrk Manager, which I have never used, but on the face of it, it does look simple. Its a bit hard to find a torrent site to download but its definitely worth the search and wait. The 2.4 Ultimate contains enough software to blow the mind away (somewhat like Knoppix !) and on the one machine i installed on an HP Pavilion DV5 series - everything worked. Ultimate 2.4 - released a few weeks after the original so it contains some updates and critical recitifications - like the working Network Manager which picks up many of the mobile broadband cards and it simply works Try it ram -- ubuntu-in mailing list ubuntu-in@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-in

Hai, First of all let me welcome you to the Open World . none of my softwares are installing. You can not install softwares mode for windows (*exes*) in Ubuntu. Unless you install Wine.. As far as I know there are alternative Linux software for every windows software you use Even the MP3 music files and vedio files are also not opening. For playing restricted formats like mp3 you have to installed some third party packages and it is very easy to install if you have a good internet connection .. -- Dream is not what you see in sleep is the thing which does not let you sleep -- ubuntu-in mailing list ubuntu-in@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-in
