[Bug 209699] Re: problem afer upgrade to mysql 5.0.22-0ubuntu6.06.8

2008-04-01 Thread Jamie Strandboge
I have confirmed that this dump causes the problem. To reproduce:
1. apt-get install mysql-server-5.0
2. /etc/init.d/mysql reset-password
3. update the database to accept connections from anywhere for root:
mysql update user set host='%' where user='root' and host='hostname here';
mysql flush privileges;
('hostname here' should be substituted with what is found with 'select
host,user from user;'

4. now restore from the dump with:
mysql -u root -p  ./dump

5. trigger with:
$ mysql -u root -p
use information_schema;
select * from TABLES;

[Bug 204441] Re: [hardy a6] samba authentication

2008-04-01 Thread Mathias Gug
Users are automatically imported in the samba password database on
install, but their password is not set. Thus it's impossible to change
your user samba password the first time. You need to initialize first
the user password by running smbpasswd as root:

$ sudo smbpasswd user_id

Then a new samba password will be set and you'll be able to change your
user samba password using smbpasswd.

Can you confirm that this is your problem and the solution works for you
?

[Bug 210143] Re: [gutsy] php5-pgsql packages are BROKEN

2008-04-01 Thread Adam Conrad
It looks like you've installed php5 from gutsy-updates
(5.2.3-1ubuntu6.3), then removed gutsy-updates from your sources.list,
so you're getting php5-pgsql from gutsy-security (5.2.3-1ubuntu6.2).
Re-add updates to your sources.list again, and all should be well with
the world.

Thank you for clearing these up.

I didn't see anywhere that indicated that I needed to change the
RunBeforeJob. This is not something I have had to do before with Bacula.

 You should replace CatalogName with the name of the catalog in your
 configuration, which is, if I understand you correctly, MyCatalog. You
 have to configure RunBeforeJob correctly, before you use it.

 RunBeforeJob runs as 'bacula' user. Home of that user is
 /var/lib/bacula. mysql client reads ~/.my.cnf, which in case of bacula
 user is /var/lib/bacula. If you run it as root, it would appear that it
 doesn't work. Beside that, you'll have problems with root-owned files in
 /var/lib/bacula.

Maybe you don't remember, but you had to insert username and password

Anyway, in next upload, I'll add a comment about what's needed to make
