[Bug 509078] Re: Please merge 2.1.0 from Debian testing

2010-01-26 Thread Thierry Carrez
Minor remarks:
 * To ease the review, you should provide a debdiff from the Debian version to
the Ubuntu version (here, the output of debdiff openvpn_2.1.0-1.dsc
openvpn_2.1.0-1ubuntu1.dsc).
 * Changelog should list all remaining delta with Debian, so I changed it to
read:

Merge from debian testing (LP: #509078), remaining changes:
+ debian/openvpn.init.d:
  - Do not use start-stop-daemon and use /dev/null to avoid blocking boot
  - Show per-VPN result messages
  - Add --script-security 2 by default for backwards compatibility
+ debian/control: Add lsb-base = 3.2-14 to allow status_of_proc()

Otherwise looks good, uploaded, thanks !

[Bug 418836] Re: MIR jetty6

2010-01-26 Thread Thierry Carrez
The jetty package in debian was finally updated to version 6, so that
makes the partial jetty6 package we introduced for eucalyptus in karmic
mostly redundant (and unsyncable). For lucid, I want to get rid of that
redundant package and use the generic jetty one instead.

I ported all Ubuntu improvements from the jetty6 package (enable build
tests, use default-jdk) to the jetty package in a recent upload, so
please consider the main promotion of the jetty package (so that i can
move the eucalyptus dependencies to jetty and ask for jetty6 removal).

Note that the scope of the jetty package is broader that the jetty6
one (it provides a standalone daemon in addition to the libraries).
However, only the core jetty library should end up as a binary in main.

Let me know if you need anything more.

[Bug 209447] Re: gnome-keyring-daemon does not honor constrained ssh identities

2010-01-26 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
This bug was fixed in the package openssh - 1:5.3p1-1ubuntu1

---
openssh (1:5.3p1-1ubuntu1) lucid; urgency=low

  * Resynchronise with Debian. Remaining changes:
- Add support for registering ConsoleKit sessions on login.
- Drop openssh-blacklist and openssh-blacklist-extra to Suggests; they
take up a lot of CD space, and I suspect that rolling them out in
security updates has covered most affected systems now.
- Convert to Upstart. The init script is still here for the benefit of
  people running sshd in chroots.

openssh (1:5.3p1-1) unstable; urgency=low

  * New upstream release.
  * Update to GSSAPI patch from

http://www.sxw.org.uk/computing/patches/openssh-5.3p1-gsskex-all-20100124.patch.
  * Backport from upstream:
- Do not fall back to adding keys without contraints (ssh-add -c / -t
...) when the agent refuses the constrained add request. This was a
useful migration measure back in 2002 when constraints were new, but
just adds risk now (LP: #209447).
  * Drop change from 1:3.8p1-3 to avoid setresuid() and setresgid() system
calls. This only applied to Linux 2.2, which it's no longer feasible to
run anyway (see 1:5.2p1-2 changelog).

Not a bug in samba; this is a deliberate behavior change in the new upstream
release of MIT Kerberos. See /usr/share/doc/libkrb5-3/NEWS.Debian.gz for
information on re-enabling use of Kerberos with realms that don't support
higher-grade encryption.

[Bug 512167] Re: apache overriding php's error_log setting

2010-01-26 Thread Daniel Convissor
Never mind. Apache didn't have permissions to create the error log.
Here's how to resolve it:

mkdir /var/log/php5
chown root:www-data /var/log/php5
chmod 775 /var/log/php5

Now edit php.ini:
error_log = /var/log/php5/php_errors.log

Sorry for the noise.

[Bug 512863] [NEW] mysqld.sock not found after restart

2010-01-26 Thread jg
Public bug reported:

Ubuntu 9.10

mysql-client:
  Installiert: 5.1.37-1ubuntu5
  Kandidat: 5.1.37-1ubuntu5
  Versions-Tabelle:
 *** 5.1.37-1ubuntu5 0

mysql-server:
  Installiert: 5.1.37-1ubuntu5
  Kandidat: 5.1.37-1ubuntu5
  Versions-Tabelle:
 *** 5.1.37-1ubuntu5 0
500 http://de.archive.ubuntu.com karmic/main Packages
100 /var/lib/dpkg/status

My Mysql-Installation was corrupt after a Ruby-on-Rails-Instalation.

First I did a complete new installation of Mysql
(sudo apt-get mysql-client mysql-server)

Afterwards everything worked fine - until I shut down the computer.

The next day I could not connect. Error message:
ERROR 2002 (HY000): Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket
'/var/run/mysqld/mysqld.sock' (2)

Trying to restart mysql (/etc/init.d/mysql restart) gave me this message:
 * Stopping MySQL database server mysqld [ OK ]
 * /etc/init.d/mysql: WARNING: /etc/mysql/my.cnf cannot be read. See
README.Debian.gz
 * Starting MySQL database server mysqld
install: cannot change owner and permissions of „/var/run/mysqld“: No such file
or directory

Then I saw, that my.cnf had disappeared altogether (sudo find / -name
my.cnf had no result).

Thank you for caring.

[Bug 512887] [NEW] Restarting libvirtd breaks Eucalyptus NC

2010-01-26 Thread ariel
Public bug reported:

Steps to reproduce:

- make sure Eucalyptus NC is up and running
- run /etc/init.d/libvirt-bin restart
- try to start a new Instance. If all other NC's are busy and the new request
lands in the current NC, then
  /var/log/eucalyptus/nc.log
  will show:

[EUCAINFO  ] doRunInstance() invoked (id=i-4912092F cores=2 disk=10 memory=512)
...
[EUCAERROR ] libvirt: cannot send data: Broken pipe (code=38)
...
[EUCAINFO ] currently running/booting: i-4912092F
[EUCAERROR ] libvirt: cannot send data: Broken pipe (code=38)
[EUCAFATAL ] hypervisor failed to start domain
...
[EUCAINFO  ] doTerminateInstance() invoked (id=i-4912092F)
[EUCAERROR ] libvirt: cannot send data: Broken pipe (code=38)
[EUCAWARN ] warning: domain i-4912092F to be terminated not running on
hypervisor

Apparently the NC keeps trying to use the old libvirtd socket and doesn't
notice the daemon was restarted.
Another VERY nasty consequence is that Eucalyptus looses track of the
previously running instances in that node! (even if they stay running in KVM)

In CC.log:
[EUCAINFO ] TerminateInstances(): calling terminate instance (i-42A10746) on
(141.x.x.x)
[EUCAERROR ] ERROR: TerminateInstance() could not be invoked (check NC host,
port, and credentials)

while in the NC we still have:
# virsh list
Connecting to uri: qemu:///system
 Id Name State
--
 107 i-42A10746 running

At the very least the libvirt-bin/Euca-NC upstart dependencies should be such
that restarting libvirtd restarts NC, or ideally and much better, Eucalyptus NC
should be fixed to handle a restarted libvirtd.

[Bug 99065] Re: feature request: reviving ssh-agent

2010-01-26 Thread hamannp
Greetings. I have an i386 box that was running Jaunty with no SSH
problems. I blew it up and installed Karmic when it was first released
a few months ago. SSH would hang after a few minutes. It was so bad
that I blew it up again and went back to Jaunty. That fixed it. Last
night, I figured it was safe to re-install Karmic. SSH worked most of
this morning. Now, it's just dead. I can log in for a minute at most
before it locks. I was installing postfix when this started. I just
installed autossh. We'll have to see what it does.

HTH,
Paul

[Bug 99065] Re: feature request: reviving ssh-agent

2010-01-26 Thread hamannp
Nope, autossh didn't help. When I close the shell and try again, I get:

ssh: connect to host 192.168.0.2 port 22: No route to host

Waiting doesn't seem to help either. The only thing I can do is kill
the power and start over. It locks again in minutes at most.

I wish I could hang around and help resolve this, but I need the
machine. Back to Jaunty for me. I can try again with Karmic in a week
or two, if that helps.

Thanks! Paul

Almost forgot,

While I was at it last night, I put Karmic on a 4gb flash from the same

different machines to see if the problems persists. Let me know if that
would help.

Cheers!

[Bug 506771] Re: I can't download anything

2010-01-26 Thread Brian Murray
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. This bug did not have a package associated with it, which
is important for ensuring that it gets looked at by the proper
developers. You can learn more about finding the right package at
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage. I have classified this
bug as a bug in clamav.

When reporting bugs in the future please use apport, either via the
appropriate application's Help - Report a Problem menu or using
'ubuntu-bug' and the name of the package affected. You can learn more
about this functionality at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/ReportingBugs.

[Bug 511668] Re: SSH uses login password even when empty password was specified in ssh-keygen

2010-01-26 Thread Colin Watson
If you enter your login password, does it work? If so, then this
certainly is not a problem with ssh-keygen, but rather some problem with
getting ssh or sshd configured correctly - it's not that your login
password is attached to your key somehow, but rather that ssh is falling
back to requesting a password after failing to authenticate using a key.

 hi
we find that from ubuntu 8.04 on, ubuntu don't support vlan(802.1), for
 example, i have a router and 3 PCs(PC-A,PC-B and PC-C ), PC-A has ip address
192.168.1.1,PC-B and PC-C has the same ip address 192.168.1.2, router is set
having 3 vlan group, group1 has 2 members, port14 and both tagged, group2
 has 2 members, port2(tagged) and port4(untagged), group3 has
 2members,port3(tagged)and port4(untagged), set port1 pvid1, port2
 pvid2,port3 pvid3, port4 pvid1,then connect PC-A to port4,PC-B to port2 and
PC-C to port3, if the OS on PC-A support vlan ,when PC-A ping PC-B and PC-C
(with vlan interface), PC-A can get the returns from PC-B and PC-C. if PC-A
runs ubuntu 7.10, it works, but from 8.04 on, it dosen't work anymore.
can you fix it on 10.04?
