[Bug 1448586] Re: package rpcbind 0.2.1-6ubuntu3 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess new pre-removal script returned error exit status 1

2015-04-26 Thread Steve Langasek
The output in your log is:

Error getting authority: Error initializing authority: Could not connect: No
such file or directory (g-io-error-quark, 1)
Error getting authority: Error initializing authority: Could not connect: No
such file or directory (g-io-error-quark, 1)
Failed to stop rpcbind.service: Transaction order is cyclic. See system logs
for details.
invoke-rc.d: initscript rpcbind, action stop failed.

According to this bug report,
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=89289 the first of these
messages appears to be related to systemd, although probably is not due
to exactly the same bug reported there.

It does appear that you are running systemd on 14.10. This is not a
supported configuration in 14.10, because systemd was only partially
supported by certain key services (such as the rpc stack). So we can't
provide support for an upgrade failure caused by running systemd on
14.10.

[Bug 1448678] [NEW] ntfs3g -s option should be ignored, making autofs mounts failing

2015-04-26 Thread Georg Grabler
Public bug reported:

I've troubled some with mounting ntfs-3g file systems with autofs.

AutoFS passes the sloppy option (-s) to mounts, which is actually a
valid thing since mount is to behave on all filesystems the same option-
whise. Though, the ntfs-3g filesystem does not support it, and fails on
it, which it should not. This is in my opinion a misbehaviour of
mount.ntfs3g, because it should just ignore the option and NOT exit.

[Bug 1390012] Re: /etc/init.d/ssh stop does not stop ssh server processes on 14.04

2015-04-26 Thread Torsten Curdt
Seeing the very same thing here on a server install.

I consider severity quite high because I was trying to secure a new server
installation with PasswordAuthentication no.
Only by accident I found that the sshd did not accept the new configuration
and was still wide open with password authentication.

This is pretty bad.

whise. Though, the ntfs-3g filesystem does not support it, and fails on
it, which it should not. This is in my opinion a misbehaviour of
mount.ntfs3g, because it should just ignore the option and NOT exit.

[Bug 1437846] Re: akonadi mysql 5.6 crash with signal 11

2015-04-26 Thread Angel
1. Initially mysqld-akonadi could not start because of an error
described as:

TIMESTAMP with implicit DEFAULT value is deprecated. Please
use --explicit_defaults_for_timestamp server option

2. In order to prevent that error, I modified the MySQL server
configuration, adding the next lines to the file /etc/akonadi/mysql-
global.conf:

   explicit_defaults_for_timestamp=1

3. After that, MySQL server starts correctly , but the problem is still
there: the Akonadi server does not start up and the control process is
not registered at D-Bus (errors in tests 10 and 11)

4. In fact, the akonadi server could not startup because of the next
error:

Sql error: Table 'akonadi.schemaversiontable' doesn't exist QMYSQL:
Unable to execute query
Query: ALTER TABLE SchemaVersionTable ADD COLUMN version INTEGER NOT
NULL DEFAULT 0
Unable to initialize database.

5. Solutions #11 and #20 do not solve the problem for me.

6. Below you will find the Akonadi Server Self-Test Report:

Re: [Bug 1448586] Re: package rpcbind 0.2.1-6ubuntu3 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess new pre-removal script returned error exit status 1

2015-04-26 Thread sweetbrett
this was generated in the middle of a 'do-release-upgrade' from 14.10 to
15.04. After a few reboots and several boots into recovery mode with 'dpkg
--configure -a', the error finally went away.

So we can't
provide support for an upgrade failure caused by running systemd on
 14.10.

[Bug 1374782] Re: OpenVPN interactively asks for a password in an init script

2015-04-26 Thread Ted
This was fixed in Debian quite a while ago (Jun 26 2014, openvpn
2.3.3-1):

https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=747265

   * Apply patch from upstream's BTS to improve systemd detection.
 (Closes: #747265)

umounting /sys/fs/cgroup/systemd is a workaround.
