[Bug 790789] Re: KVM Guest freezing following Ubuntu update
>From bug 799166: Current prerelease kernel 2.6.32-33 doesn't fix this issue for me. This issue is restricted to AMD processors. Falling back to 2.6.32-31 is an alternative work-around. For me, modifying the Linux command line in our guests is an undesirable workaround and I will be using 2.6.32-31 on our AMD development hosts instead. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to qemu-kvm in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/790789 Title: KVM Guest freezing following Ubuntu update To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/qemu-kvm/+bug/790789/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

[Bug 800109] [NEW] Pressing mouse buttons 8 or 9 sometimes hangs the mouse
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: irqbalance Preface: I am aware that multiple rather unspecific bugs have been filed against various packages for mouse or keyboard issues somehow linked to irqbalance. My issue is a bit different in that I do NOT experience random hangs but can trigger them through specific buttons. I have a CoolerMaster Storm Sentinel Advance[1] mouse connected via USB. Unfortunately I do not have a second mouse to test with. When irqbalance is running, pressing the back or forward buttons (identified in xev as buttons 8 and 9) sometimes but not always causes the mouse to "hang": The cursor still reacts to some mouse movements, but moves only in a very small area (about 5 mm on screen). Button presses on any button but the two mentioned are still registered correctly, but buttons 8 and 9 do nothing. There are two ways to solve the issue: Plugging the mouse into another USB port or stopping the irqbalance service. When irqbalance is not running, no mouse issues appear. All buttons are fully usable. Information as required by the guidelines: 1) Release: 10.10 2) Package version: 0.56-0ubuntu2 3) Expected behaviour: - Press buttons 8 or 9 - Application does whatever is mapped to buttons 8 or 9 4) What happened: - Press buttons 8 or 9 - Application does NOT do whatever is mapped to those buttons - Mouse cursor only moves within a very small area, responds to all buttons except 8 and 9 Apport data can be provided upon request. OpenSSH version: 5.8p1-1ubuntu3 OpenSC version: 0.11.13-1ubuntu5 Which other software is ubuntu using for loading ssh agent (so I can write their versions here) Steps to reproduce: - you have a OpenSC compatible card/token with loaded key pair (pkcs15-tool -D prints information about private and public RSA key) - type into terminal after login: ssh-add -s /usr/lib/opensc-pkcs11.so - next type PIN for the security card/token - you probably see error: SSH_AGENT_FAILURE - now run new ssh agent (type into terminal ssh-agent and output copy to the terminal too) and repeat steps in this terminal - after typing PIN you get message "Card added: /usr/lib/opensc-pkcs11.so" and ssh-agent now knows key on the card/token - this is correct behaviour -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to openssh in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/791747 Title: Cannot add keys from PKCS#11 provider To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/openssh/+bug/791747/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs
[Bug 799711] Re: o2cb[11796]: ERROR: ocfs2_controld.pcmk did not come up
Hi There! Thank you for taking the time to report bugs and trying to make Ubuntu better. Now, I have a few questions and suggestions that will help determine your issue: 1. Where did you install the tools from? From the Ubuntu Archive or from the PPA given at the HowTo? (Tools in the Ubuntu archive do not support OCFS2/Pacemaker clusters, and that's why we were pointing to the ones on PPA) 2. Did you install OpenAIS? If not please do so. If yes, List what's in /etc/corosync/service.d/ 3. When you dpkg-reconfigure ocfs2-tools package, and after the output has finished showing, did you disable o2cb as showed in the HowTo? "sudo update-rc.d o2cb disable" 4. When you use OCFS2 with pacemaker you *don't* have to create /etc/ocfs2/cluster.conf. Please drop that file. Please. also attach pacemaker's and corosync's config file;s, as well as what's inside of /etc/corosync/service.d/. additionally, is there any other step you followed that is not listed in the Ubuntu howto? So that I'm able to try to reproduce this report following the howto. For now I'm marking this bug report as incomplete until more information is provided. Thank you again for filing bug reports! ** Changed in: ocfs2-tools (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to ocfs2-tools in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/799711 Title: o2cb[11796]: ERROR: ocfs2_controld.pcmk did not come up To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ocfs2-tools/+bug/799711/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

[Bug 644489] Re: constantly changes /dev/disk/by-id/{scsi, wwn}-* LUN symlinks with multipathing
After chatting with Douglas Gilbert on this I know have a better understanding of the problem. This very issue has been raised by him before on linux-scsi and it never saw final resolution. http://kerneltrap.org/mailarchive/linux-scsi/2010/2/15/6778453 When the file descriptor to the SD device is closed, the change event occurs, presumably because it was opened with O_RDRW to begin with, though nothing actually changed. By changing that flag to O_RDONLY, no udev events are generated when the fd closes. It doesn't address the root cause but it's sufficient to get us unjammed safely while we continue to work on a better solution. That solution may be adjusting the multipath priority checkers to use the corresponding sg devices when presented with an sd device. Either way, there's more work to do. Since all the priority checkers amount to different degrees of scsi inquiry, and vendor specific san interrogation commands. I believe we're safe with the O_RDONLY approach. All data direction flags for sg io in this case are SG_DXFER_FROM_DEV or SG_DXFER_NONE. ** Patch added: "multipath-tools-eliminate-udev-change-events-lp644489.debdiff" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/multipath-tools/+bug/644489/+attachment/2177364/+files/multipath-tools-eliminate-udev-change-events-lp644489.debdiff -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to multipath-tools in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/644489 Title: constantly changes /dev/disk/by-id/{scsi,wwn}-* LUN symlinks with multipathing To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/multipath-tools/+bug/644489/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

This is now described here: http://openvpn.net/index.php/open-source/documentation/howto.html#pkcs11 When I originally prepared my eToken, I created the PKCS12 file with easy-rsa, initialized the token with pkcs15-init and put the PKCS12 file on the token with pkcs15-init. I'm not sure if the hang is also reproducable with a token without PKCS15 structure on it. It should also be possible to use Aladdins proprietary PKCS11 provider under linux, but I never tried that. [Bug 795315] Re: unknown protocol speaking not SSL to HTTPS port on apache2 reload/restart
Thanks for reporting this issue and attaching a patch! I'd like to clarify which release you are seeing this behaviour on, as my understanding of upstream is that it was resolved in their trunk ~2 years ago. I would have expected this to be fixed in a later release of ubuntu when the upstream fix reached us. However, if this is not the case - we need to investigate further. [Bug 797196] Re: package setserial 2.17-45.3ubuntu1 failed to install/upgrade: le sous-processus script post-installation installé a retourné une erreur de sortie d'état 1
Thanks for reporting this issue. This is very peculiar situation; the attached logs report that: * update-rc.d: /etc/init.d/setserial: file does not exist This means that the init script which starts setserial is missing. Please can you confirm if this has been manually removed? You could resolve this locally by purging the package and reinstalling (note, any custom setserial settings would be lost unless you backup variations): $ sudo apt-get remove --purge setserial $ sudo apt-get install setseria However, I would like to determine if this is an actual bug with setserial - so please do provide feedback. [Bug 569757] Re: NIS upstart dependency broken for lucid
Clint, My attached files based on your original suggestion of two new upstart jobs should do the trick as far as a minimally invasive fix for many users. Anything more substantial would probably be hard to get approved for a point release right? It looks (from Christian's latest comment) like the start line for my "nis" script should be modified to remove the "net-device-up IFACE!=lo" condition but otherwise I've been running these scripts for months with no issues on an otherwise untouched 10.04.2.
