[Bug 1422046] Re: cinder backup-list is always listing all tenants's bug for admin

2015-10-27 Thread Yves-Gwenael Bourhis
Horizon is affected because as long as cinderclient <1.4.0, if the user
is logged in with admin permissions, the user lists all cinderbackup
resources instead of the ones of his own tenant, with the reisk of
tampering with ressources from another tenant/user.

[Bug 1422046] Re: cinder backup-list is always listing all tenants's bug for admin

This can be a security issue, because openstack admins may not be aware
that they are seeing other users' cinder backup ressources and can
delete them.

*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 344878 ***

I found this problem before but i have fixed this easily. There are many
tool available for long path error. I have used Long path tool and it
works great. You can try it. It is easy to fix this error using this
tool.

[Bug 1510318] [NEW] Augeas 1.3 can't read some conf files

2015-10-27 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
You have been subscribed to a public bug by Robie Basak (racb):

Augaes 1.3 can't read certain ssl.conf files, such as one of the ones Let's
Encrypt uses: https://github.com/letsencrypt/letsencrypt/issues/981
versions 1.2 and 1.4 of augaes don't have this problem, but currently vivid and
wily are distributing version 1.3:

For Let's Encrypt to work for all Ubuntu users this bug should be fixed for

[Bug 1504781] Re: lxc-test-ubuntu hangs forever in trusty-proposed with Linux 3.13.0-66: AppArmor denies /dev/ptmx mounting

2015-10-27 Thread Stefan Huehner
Hi Marc,
please check comment #33 from Serge. He explained that formally lxc in precise
is not covered by lts.

However a very special case as a LTS update in main in precise (kernel) did
break unrelated software (lxc) which is a clear regression.
And then not having that other software not in being in main -> skips it from
LTS is lets say very annoying.

@Robert:
using that higher version of lxc is not a perfect drop-up replacement either as
usage changed compared to old precise lxc (i.e. no lxc-list anymore but lxc-ls
-f) and maybe other changes.

We'll probably look into backporting the lxc fix for precise as we have quite a
few machines affected. But no ETA, so if anybody else here can pick that up
before that would be very welcome.

@Serge:
Any chance to get some policy statement from Ubuntu here? As i see maybe that
example as very special regression caused by lts update should maybe warrant
fixing items not in main if broken by it.

2015-10-27 Thread Thomas Ward
Not a bug. If you read the systemctl output for the NGINX service or
read the service logs, you will get the information about why your
installation failed: NGINX could not bind to port 80. Check what's
bound to port 80, and turn that service off temporarily while you
install nginx.

[Bug 1510318] Re: Augeas 1.3 can't read some conf files

2015-10-27 Thread Robie Basak
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better.

We can't bump augeas in Vivid and Wily as they are already released, but
it looks like it should be fairly easy to cherry-pick just this fix
without regressing existing users. Is this accurate?

In this case, if somebody can prepare and test a backported patch for
1.3.0-0ubuntu1, I will be happy to help drive this to a fix in Wily,
Vivid and Xenial which all currently are on that version.

I will need a commitment from someone to verify the fix for each release
as even though I appreciate there is an automated test case, we do still
require manual verification for updates to stable releases in order to
minimise risk of regression to existing users.

If you're interested in the process, it is documented at
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/StableReleaseUpdates

[Bug 1510318] Re: Augeas 1.3 can't read some conf files

2015-10-27 Thread Dominic Cleal
I'm attaching the trio of commits to fix the bug in a single patch,
rebased on top of the upstream 1.3.0 release. Hopefully somebody can
use this as the basis of a patch against the package itself.

Locally it seems to resolve parsing of the ssl.conf file at
https://github.com/letsencrypt/letsencrypt/issues/981#issuecomment-148485384.

[Bug 1510318] Re: Augeas 1.3 can't read some conf files

2015-10-27 Thread Dominic Cleal
With regards to manual regression testing for a stable update, I'd
suggest running "augtool print /files/etc/apache2" (with Apache, mod_ssl
and optionally, other Apache modules installed) to check if any files
that used to parse now fail in any way. Hopefully the number of errors
will be reduced.

[Bug 1510099] Re: Asterisk 11 deb source wont compile

2015-10-27 Thread Robie Basak
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better.

I am unable to reproduce and successfully test built asterisk 1:11.7.0
~dfsg-1ubuntu1 on Trusty using sbuild. Could it be some issue with your
build environment? See my build log attached.

I'm marking this Invalid since asterisk 1:11.7.0~dfsg-1ubuntu1 can
successfully be built on Trusty. See
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/SimpleSbuild for help, or see
http://www.ubuntu.com/support/community for community support options if
you are having difficulty.

If after looking into this you believe that this really is a bug in
Ubuntu as opposed to a problem with your build environment, please
provide exact steps to reproduce on a fresh Ubuntu system and then set
the bug status back to New.

[Bug 1475751] Re: need phablet support for mods to /etc/lxc/lxc-usernet (vivid+stable ppa overaly)

2015-10-27 Thread Christopher Townsend
Hey Stéphane,

I agree that hardcoding the phablet user is not the best way to go about
this. This is really only needed for The Future in which devices use a
kernel that supports unprivileged containers. I think at this juncture,
going about the way where members of a lxc-net group automatically get
10 veth devices is best.

2015-10-27 Thread Curtis Hovey
I created a branch for xenial. This is just a forward port of the wily
branch. Only the changelog differs.

** Branch linked: lp:~sinzui/ubuntu/xenial/juju-core/xenial-1.24.7

** Description changed:

Juju 1.24.7 addresses changes happening in AWS and MAAS. AWS deprecated
the m1* instance types and users of older Jujus are seeing cases where
EC2 does not have enough instances. Juju 1.24.7 will ask for newer
instance types. Juju 1.24.7 has a dhcp related fix to work with MAAS
  1.9.

Wily if you like - that should work

I should add that if you do this you should manually downgrade back to
packages from Wily later, to make sure that you receive any future
security updates.

[Bug 1504781] Re: lxc-test-ubuntu hangs forever in trusty-proposed with Linux 3.13.0-66: AppArmor denies /dev/ptmx mounting

2015-10-27 Thread Mathieu Lafon
I'm also interested by an update of the lxc package for precise.

The attached patch is working for me (add "/dev/pts/ptmx -> /dev/ptmx"
instead of "/dev/pts/ptmx/ -> /dev/ptmx/"). Note that keeping the
previous rule is required for not breaking old kernels.

2015-10-27 Thread Serge Hallyn
I'm trying to come up with a brief test case to SRU this to wily, but
i don't seem to get an error when I do:

sudo ifconfig eth0:0 192.168.99.1 up
sudo ncftool list
sudo ncftool dumpxml eth0:0

Or, at least, no different results than with the patch applied. Can you
show

ifconfig -a

output for the system where you are having this error?

[Bug 1510565] Re: [needs-packaging] Juju 1.25.0 is not in xenial and wily

2015-10-27 Thread Curtis Hovey
My juju-core 1.25.0 package is based on 1.24.6-0ubuntu3. 1.25.0 contains 16
dependencies changes:
* 2 new go packages, github.com/juju/deputy and gopkg.in/juju/environschema.v1
* 13 update go packages that are unique to juju-core
* 1 package, github.com/juju/loggo, is newer than the the dh-golang go package.
Juju can still use the -dev package in Ubuntu, but everyone will benefit
if the race-condition fix were packaged. Martin Packman is working on a new
package for Debian that we can update in Ubuntu as needed.

2015-10-27 Thread Curtis Hovey
The deb.diff is from 1.24.6-0ubuntu3. I updated the copyright files for
the new revisions. I also reviewed all the dates of the copyrights of the
sources and found changes maybe should have been in the 1.24.6-0ubuntu3
package. Like my concurrent packages for juju-core 1.24.7 I removed the .pc/
dir and revised the tests to not switch init systems, nor attempt to claim
a non-systemd releases is a future release.

[Bug 1510711] [NEW] if-pre-up.d/vlan should support brN.X interfaces

2015-10-27 Thread LaMont Jones
Public bug reported:

A common name for bridge interfaces is 'br0'. Currently, the pre-up and
post-down scripts do not support those, so the interaface fails to
autocreate.

Seen on trusty (1.9-3ubuntu10) and confirmed as not fixed on xenial
(1.9-3.2ubuntu1)

It's the kilo cloud-archive version that we're using, which is a
backport of vivid's. It's vivid that needs the SRU.

[Bug 1481388] Re: NTP : Use-after-free in routing socket code after dropping root

2015-10-27 Thread Eric Desrochers
Good evening Chris,

This bug has been brought to my attention by someone in the community.
Unfortunately, I never had a confirmation from him if the fix solve his
issue or not... but as state in comment #5 & #11, I've been able to
reproduce the problem and make sure it addressed the situation.

The reproducer is basically to lower down the value of
"net.core.[m-r]mem_default" and adding multiples network interface +
static route.

FYI, the same fix has been also applied in Debian

ref: https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=795315

Let me know if you need anything else.

Thanks !

upstream fix. I'm going to try to get that into the trusty package
rather than keep tweakng this separate patch.

2015-10-27 Thread Chris Halse Rogers
Has anyone who was able to reproduce the original crash tested the
packages from trusty-proposed (or precise or vivid) to check that the
crash is actually fixed?

It's good that it doesn't seem to regress anything, but we also want to
know whether it *fixes* anything :)

[Bug 1492227] Re: 0.94.3 stable update

2015-10-27 Thread oh
Ceph 0.94.4 is out with important bug fixes, released oct 19. Will it
appear in vivid/wily soon?

v0.94.4 Hammer released

This Hammer point fixes several important bugs in Hammer, as well as
fixing interoperability issues that are required before an upgrade to
Infernalis. That is, all users of earlier version of Hammer or any
version of Firefly will first need to upgrade to hammer v0.94.4 or later
before upgrading to Infernalis (or future releases).

All v0.94.x Hammer users are strongly encouraged to upgrade.

the change by rebooting the guest using the stock SeaBIOS, and it was
broken. I installed seabios-1.7.4-4ubuntu1 from trusty-proposed and
rebooted the guest. It works now.

[Bug 1481388] Re: NTP : Use-after-free in routing socket code after dropping root

2015-10-27 Thread Mathew Hodson
I think it is probably necessary to rebase the debdiffs on the new
versions in case there are any confilcts. There were a lot of changes as
you can see here http://www.ubuntu.com/usn/usn-2783-1/ .

I don't have direct knowledge of the code though.

[Bug 1510318] Re: Augeas 1.3 can't read some conf files

2015-10-27 Thread Robie Basak
Thanks Dominic. I've uploaded this to Xenial, which as it is for the
development release I don't have to worry as much about regressing
existing users.

Can someone confirm that the problem with letsencrypt is fixed with
Xenial, please (or just manually grab the .deb files from Xenial and
install it on Wily if you like - that should work)? As I'm just blindly
cherry-picking patches here, I'd prefer if someone affected could
confirm, and then I'll upload SRUs for Vivid and Wily.

[Bug 1504781] Re: lxc-test-ubuntu hangs forever in trusty-proposed with Linux 3.13.0-66: AppArmor denies /dev/ptmx mounting

2015-10-27 Thread Serge Hallyn
@stefan-huehner - sorry, I'm losing track. is what you are asking for
just a lxc update to precise-proposed with the new apparmor allow rule
that jj suggested?

If so, in comment #33 I was trying to encourage a debdiff to be posted
by someone who could best test it. I'll then sponsor it into the
archive.

I'll make a note in my tickler file that if noone has posted a debdiff
by friday, I'll post one then.

That's not the correct way build from a Debian or Ubuntu source package.
Use "debian/rules build" or "dpkg-buildpackage". See the documentation.
