[ubuntu-studio-devel] Application Testing for Ubuntu Studio Xenial 16.04
Hi All,As of the 18th February, the Debian Import Freeze started. This means that unless we do something special, the applications in Xenial right now, are the ones that will be released with Xenial in April. So lets try and make sure that no buggy package slips through to the DVD!We have now got a package testing tracker set up here, with Test Cases for some of our packages:http://packages.qa.ubuntu.com/qatracker/milestones/350/buildsSo please pick a test case, and run the test and upload your result on the the package tracker. Check in there daily or weekly to see how the testing is getting on, and pick another one to test. Then we can investigate the bugs found, and try and do something about them.It is probably best to install the development release of Ubuntu Studio to do the testing:https://wiki.ubuntu.com/UbuntuStudio/InstallDevelopmentReleaseYou could probably also install it in a Virtual Machine, or from the Live DVD for some applications, but a bare metal installation will be best for audio applications, and also pick up hardware related problems.Ask questions here if you need to, or find someone on IRC.Cheers,Ross -- ubuntu-studio-devel mailing list ubuntu-studio-devel@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-studio-devel
[ubuntu-studio-devel] Ubuntu Studio Xenial - Beta 1 ISO Testing
Hi All, On Thursday 25th February the 1st Beta (Beta 1) of Ubuntu Studio (and other flavours) will be released. So please help by occasionally testing an ISO image from today and especially on the 25th. The more testing, the more bugs we can identify and try to fix. *Short instructions on how to test:* 1. Get a launchpad account, if you haven't, at http://launchpad.net 2. Head to http://iso.qa.ubuntu.com, and login 3. Go to http://iso.qa.ubuntu.com/qatracker/milestones/357/builds/ and follow the links for Ubuntu Studio to the test cases. 4. Make sure your to do a checksum on your ISO before you report bugs. 5. If you find bugs, check at the bottom of the test case page if the bug was already reported, then make sure to include it in your test results. If no one had reported the bug, in a terminal, do: ubuntu-bug 6. Even if all tests are completed, but the build is not yet marked *ready*, you may still help testing and submitting bug reports. *Long instructions:* For those new to ISO testing, please refer to: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/UbuntuStudio/Testing/ISOTesting For even more extensive information, please check out: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Testing/ISO Cheers, Ross -- ubuntu-studio-devel mailing list ubuntu-studio-devel@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-studio-devel
