** Description changed: Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-radeon On Lucid Lynx, after few updates I completely lost graphics hardware acceleration. As fglrx won't work with new xorg, I use radeon driver (my card is ATI Radeon 3650 HD). I used to have perfect 3d graphic, compiz and games used to work smoothly, but from some time I can't use any of them, when I lunch a game it consumes 100% cpu and lags a lot, and when I start compiz, it says compiz (core) - Fatal: Software rendering detected. compiz (core) - Error: Failed to manage screen: 0 compiz (core) - Fatal: No manageable screens found on display :0.0 so my guess is that the radeon driver is not providing me with 3d hardware acceleration. = I don't know if it is a significant tip, but I found out that use-count of module 'radeon' is 0, as lsmod shows. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 534662] Re: No hardware acceleration on ATI Radeon 3650 HD using 'radeon' driver
Hi Rafal, I notice you have an xorg.conf file, but pretty much everything in it should already be included by default. But just in case one of those settings might be triggering some odd behavior, could you please try moving aside your xorg.conf and boot X with no xorg.conf at all, and see if the problem still exists? Robert, are you certain it's just a kernel module timing issue? I notice it's complaining that it expects a kernel module version 1.17.0 but is finding 2.0.0. Could it simply be a version mismatch? [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 505995] Re: java crashed with signal 5 in _XError()
@computerjy-computerjy - thanks for providing that info, but we would like to see it from the original reporter. We may want to send this bug report upstream, but upstream has a hard and fast rule that logs from someone other than the original reporter are not acceptable. The reason for that is that quite often with X.org bug reports, two people may *think* they have the same issue based on commonality of symptoms and/or hardware, but in truth they have separate issues and mixing the report and the files can cause the developers some confusion. If this bug report seems not to be getting attention, I would encourage you to file a new bug report with this data, and simply reference this bug report in your bug description. ** Changed in: libx11 (Ubuntu) Status: Incomplete = New ** Changed in: libx11 (Ubuntu) Status: New = Incomplete -- java crashed with signal 5 in _XError() https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/505995 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to libx11 in ubuntu. ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 537640] Re: video problem flicker unreadable hp compaq nx9420 ati radeon
Since it sounds like you switch between various graphics drivers, it sounds like there is a potential here that you had some bits installed from one of the earlier video drivers which is now interfering. Can you please try booting a LiveCD of Lucid beta1 and see if you can reproduce the issue in that clean environment? One possible cause would be if fglrx bits were installed, and this is documented at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/X/Troubleshooting/FglrxInteferesWithRadeonDriver ** Changed in: xserver-xorg-video-ati (Ubuntu) Status: Confirmed = Incomplete -- video problem flicker unreadable hp compaq nx9420 ati radeon https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/537640 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-ati in ubuntu. ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 538377] Re: HD3450 HDMI output intermittently turns off
Hi Daniel, okay I think we should forward this upstream to look at, however there's a couple things I'd just like to doublecheck first. I see you posted an xorg.conf. Pretty much it looks totally okay, but I think everything that is listed there are now defaults, and in fact should set up properly with no xorg.conf. Could you please try moving aside your xorg.conf and boot with no xorg.conf at all, and see if the issue reproduces? Second, you mentioned you'd had fglrx installed previously. Sometimes, depending on how it is uninstalled, it can leave some bits on the disk which then screw up the open source driver's 3D. I don't see any evidence this is happening here, but just in case please follow the directions at the following link to purge any remaining fglrx components: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/X/Troubleshooting/FglrxInteferesWithRadeonDriver Finally, I notice you're running the 2.6.33 kernel. Does the same thing happen when using the stock lucid kernel? ** Changed in: xserver-xorg-video-ati (Ubuntu) Status: Confirmed = Incomplete -- HD3450 HDMI output intermittently turns off https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/538377 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-ati in ubuntu. ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 539507] Re: System Freeze/Pause waiting for something
apport information ** Description changed: Binary package hint: plymouth During the boot I have a first freeze on ubuntu logo. I boot on a dongle with desktop amd64 or i386 or netbook 20100316 iso burnt on it. System waiting for something. I just have background and X cursor that I can move but nothing else. To pass it I switch to Ctrl+Alt+F1 and come back to Alt-F7 Exactly when I switch to Ctrl+Alt+F1, the DD LED Activity power on (I suppose X session continue to gdm) So, I access gdm, enter login+ pass and got a new freeze. Same cause, similar effects. instead of corrupted screen, I get bumped back to logon.
