[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1152304] Re: [MacBookPro5, 1] Sometimes key presses get stuck leading to repeated characters
Clint Byrum, this bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue? If so, could you please test for this with the latest development release of Ubuntu? ISO images are available from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com /daily-live/current/ . If it remains an issue, could you please just make a comment to this. Also, could you please test the latest upstream kernel available following https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds ? It will allow additional upstream developers to examine the issue. Once you've tested the upstream kernel, please comment on which kernel version specifically you tested. If this bug is fixed in the mainline kernel, please add the following tags: kernel-fixed-upstream kernel-fixed-upstream-VERSION-NUMBER where VERSION-NUMBER is the version number of the kernel you tested. For example: kernel-fixed-upstream-v3.13-rc2 This can be done by clicking on the yellow circle with a black pencil icon next to the word Tags located at the bottom of the bug description. As well, please remove the tag: needs-upstream-testing If the mainline kernel does not fix this bug, please add the following tags: kernel-bug-exists-upstream kernel-bug-exists-upstream-VERSION-NUMBER As well, please remove the tag: needs-upstream-testing Once testing of the upstream kernel is complete, please mark this bug's Status as Confirmed. Please let us know your results. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1224254] Re: xrandr Xerrors with the nvidia binary drivers (optimus)
Apparently the modesetting driver doesn't play well when trying to set the primary output (which does not seem to be supported by the driver). In any case, we should really make sure to trap the XError and to ignore it when setting the primary output, instead of only ignoring the error when we look for the primary output. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1257327] [NEW] Ubuntu 13.10 dual monitor screen lock causes windows to disappear off-screen
Public bug reported: 1)cplummer@cplummer-dl:~$ lsb_release -rd Description:Ubuntu 13.10 Release:13.10 2) cplummer@cplummer-dl:~$ sudo apt-cache policy xorg xorg: Installed: 1:7.7+1ubuntu6 Candidate: 1:7.7+1ubuntu6 Version table: *** 1:7.7+1ubuntu6 0 500 http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ saucy/main amd64 Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status I have a dual monitor set up with a Dell T5500 and an Nvidia Quadro NVS 295 graphics card. I lock the screen with a window open on the second monitor, then unlock it again. When the desktop shows again, the windows that were on the second screen are gone offscreen. I expected them to still be on the second screen - I can workaround this by using Alt+Spacebar to move the window back. This happens every time I lock the screen, and it happens if I use the Nouveau driver or if I use the proprietary driver. 3) I expected the windows on the second screen to stay on the screen after unlocking the system. 4) Instead, the windows disappeared off-screen - the Unity launcher still shows them being open, plus if I have multiple windows of an application open (i.e. the terminal), then double click the launcher icon, then it shows me all the windows and lets me choose one to bring forward, even the ones offscreen. When I pick the offscreen one to bring forward, its icon just shoots offscreen again. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1224254] Re: xrandr Xerrors with the nvidia binary drivers (optimus)
SRU request: Please accept gnome-desktop3 (3.4.2-0ubuntu0.2) in precise-proposed and gnome-desktop3 (3.8.4-0ubuntu1.1) in saucy-proposed. [Impact] In Precise and Saucy, we support hybrid graphics, and this issue prevents users from enabling external screens (the ones connected to the Intel card), and to benefit from all the features that the gnome-settings-daemon provides (font settings, input settings, theming, etc.). [Test Case] After installing the update, users should be able to open the Displays configuration tool, and the gnome-settings-daemon will be running (as shown by the ps aux | grep gnome-settings-daemon command). [Regression Potential] None. We simply trap and ignore an error when setting the primary output, as the rest of the program already does when getting the primary output. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-modesetting in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1224254 Title: xrandr Xerrors with the nvidia binary drivers (optimus) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/gnome-desktop/+bug/1224254/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1197921] Re: LibreOffice spreadsheet causes full Xorg crash with Anti-Aliasing enabled
Ritesh, thanks for your patches! A couple of notes: - these are security patches, so you should use release-security instead of release-proposed - I'm not sure if launchpad would autoclose a bug with 'lp: #1197921' in the changelog, but that is non-conventional. You should use 'LP: #1197921' instead - there is no patch attribution or origin in DEP-3 comments in the patch in debian/patches - because it is a security update, it should follow the changelog format as described in https://wiki.ubuntu.com/SecurityTeam/UpdatePreparation#Packaging. This doesn't yet have a CVE assignment, so use CVE-- as a placeholder - there is an extra line of whitespace in debian/changelog - the patch is missing the test case. Looks like the patch is 5e14da97f16e421d084a9e735be21b1025150f0c and the test case 2f876cf86718d3dd9b3b04ae9552530edafe58a1 NAK in its current form, but I'll fix it up and push it out as a security update. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xorg-server in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1197921 Title: LibreOffice spreadsheet causes full Xorg crash with Anti-Aliasing enabled To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/pixman/+bug/1197921/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
