Re: [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1246203] Re: Mouse pointer does not appear
The bug is still there... I'm going to try the daily live cd image as soon as I get new batteries for my bluetooth mouse and give a feedback. 2014/1/10 Christopher M. Penalver christopher.m.penal...@gmail.com Gorgonilla, this bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue? If so, could you please test for this with the latest development release of Ubuntu? ISO images are available from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com /daily-live/current/ . If it remains an issue, could you please run the following command in the development release from a Terminal (Applications-Accessories-Terminal), as it will automatically gather and attach updated debug information to this report: apport-collect -p xserver-xorg-input-evdev REPLACE-WITH-BUG-NUMBER Please note, given that the information from the prior release is already available, doing this on a release prior to the development one would not be helpful. Thank you for your understanding. When gnome shell starts, the mouse pointer is is not shown on the screen... however if a move the mouse, the pointer it is still not shown but it actually moves... if fact if I keep moving the mouse towards NW (that is where the top left corner of the screen is) the gnome shell overview mode is activated. In order to make my mouse pointer visible, I have to touch the touchpad. From that moment on, the mouse pointer will be visible. It's a minor thing but it can be annoying especially if you disable the touchpad. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1085338]
This is still an existing problem since a couple of years in my setup, so I'll try to move it a bit to get it solved: I wonder if there's any way on which this alignment could be off-by-one in the xrandr code for this specific case. Christopher, I've already tried this earlier in the process (tried to bisect the kernel), but failed on it. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 875009] Re: keyboard and mouse not working
apport information ** Tags added: apport-collected saucy ** Description changed: Hi, after system upgrade to Ubuntu oneiric, my mouse and keyboard are note working anymore. This is kind of disturbing, as I can't login. Currently my workaround was to create a /etc/X11/xorg.conf with Option AutoAddDevices false so I can at least use keyboard and mouse. I am not sure, but this could be caused by HAL or udev so that the X server doesn't see the input devices anymore. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1267071] Re: JavaFX Ensemble.jar Mouse problem
I'm developping on an older version of Linux (ubuntu current stable) where this bug does not happen the java version is the same (current oracle 7u45) the only change is (intel grafik driver, xorg or gtk) couse with java 7u40 there was an other bug (xorg crashes) but this bug is not reproduceable any longer i don't know the interna so i can't tell you if it is X or the driver or gtk the real problem is the overlay at applicationlevel. but if i disable this i can't use my app (funny look - not usable any longer) so i think it is the driver or more the x implementation which seams had changed (compositing and overlay?) i would do more debuging but i don't know where to start. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xorg in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1267071 Title: JavaFX Ensemble.jar Mouse problem To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg/+bug/1267071/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1253041] Re: lts-saucy enablement in precise
I've tested the complete saucy-lts stack for a couple of days now, and though everything runs quite well in general, I noticed one regression compared to the raring-lts stack. The unity window-spread tends to become very choppy when many windows are open, or when unity has been running for a while. This is the case when triggering for all windows with Super+s, or for application windows when clicking on a taskbar icon. Interestingly, the spread animations become smooth again after opening the dash, but this effect lasts only a few mins, which makes me wonder whether the problem might be due to more aggressive powersaving in the saucy stack. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to libdrm in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1253041 Title: lts-saucy enablement in precise To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libdrm/+bug/1253041/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1190341] [NEW] [MacBookPro10, 1] Backlight stopped working after update of linux-image with nvidia 313.30
You have been subscribed to a public bug: I am using Ubuntu 13.04, nvidia 313.30, fresh installation from scratch, on a MacBookPro10,1 (the one with Retina display). Two of my partition are encrypted (swap and /srv on which /home is bind mounted).Since some upgrade to linux-image-3.8.0-24 backlight control does not work anymore. I am stuck with 3.8.0-23 in order to get something kind of working (I have to go in sleep mode at least once in order to get backlight control available). The last almost working kernel is 3.8.0-23. I even tried 3.9.0-030900 upstream kernel with no success. Everything was working fine with the first installation of 13.04. WORKAROUND: Use nouveau. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 945670] Re: computer completely locks up after hibernate
apport information ** Tags added: apport-collected compiz-0.9 saucy ** Description changed: Most times I try to resume from hibernate (S4), the computer completely locks up a few seconds after it resumes from hibernate. Specifically when this happens, I usually see the login screen where I can resume my existing session. The mouse works for the first few seconds, and I can even begin to type my password. But within seconds, the computer entirely locks up, specifically it no longer reacts to any mouse or keyboard input, including Alt+SysRq+REISUB. I suspect the ATi graphics and the Broadcom wifi chips are part of the problem, as I believe the AMD C-60 hybrid APU is still unsupported in Linux, and Broadcom wifi in Linux is notoriously unstable. The timing of the lockup appears consistent with how long it might take the wifi card to (try to) reestablish wifi connectivity. WORKAROUND: sleep (S3) usually works fine on my system. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1268666] [NEW] Displayport monitor attached to docking station doesn't work with Haswell/Intel gfx thinkpad t440p
Public bug reported: I have a Lenovo T440p laptop with a displayport monitor attached to the docking station. If I turn on the laptop in the docking station, the monitor works under the BIOS but once I get into Linux the monitor doesn't light up. I see the following in kernel log (full logs with drm debugging turned on via xdiagnose attached): [ 116.951792] [drm:intel_dp_start_link_train] *ERROR* failed to enable link training [ 116.954504] [drm:intel_dp_complete_link_train] *ERROR* failed to start channel equalization ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 14.04 Package: xserver-xorg-video-intel 2:2.99.907-0ubuntu1 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 3.13.0-2.17-generic 3.13.0-rc7 Uname: Linux 3.13.0-2-generic x86_64 .tmp.unity.support.test.0: ApportVersion: 2.13.1-0ubuntu1 Architecture: amd64 CompizPlugins: No value set for `/apps/compiz-1/general/screen0/options/active_plugins' CompositorRunning: compiz CompositorUnredirectDriverBlacklist: '(nouveau|Intel).*Mesa 8.0' CompositorUnredirectFSW: true CurrentDesktop: Unity Date: Mon Jan 13 09:29:42 2014 DistUpgraded: Fresh install DistroCodename: trusty DistroVariant: ubuntu ExtraDebuggingInterest: Yes, including running git bisection searches GraphicsCard: Intel Corporation 4th Gen Core Processor Integrated Graphics Controller [8086:0416] (rev 06) (prog-if 00 [VGA controller]) Subsystem: Lenovo Device [17aa:220f] NVIDIA Corporation GK208M [GeForce GT 730M] [10de:1290] (rev a1) (prog-if 00 [VGA controller]) Subsystem: Lenovo Device [17aa:220f] InstallationDate: Installed on 2014-01-11 (2 days ago) InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 14.04 LTS Trusty Tahr - Alpha amd64 (20140109) MachineType: LENOVO 20ANCTO1WW PlymouthDebug: Error: [Errno 13] Permission denied: '/var/log/plymouth-debug.log' ProcKernelCmdLine: BOOT_IMAGE=/vmlinuz-3.13.0-2-generic.efi.signed root=/dev/mapper/ubuntu--vg-root ro plymouth:debug splash quiet drm.debug=0xe SourcePackage: xserver-xorg-video-intel UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install) dmi.bios.date: 12/04/2013 dmi.bios.vendor: LENOVO dmi.bios.version: GLET43WW (1.18 ) dmi.board.asset.tag: Not Available dmi.board.name: 20ANCTO1WW dmi.board.vendor: LENOVO dmi.board.version: Not Defined dmi.chassis.asset.tag: No Asset Information dmi.chassis.type: 10 dmi.chassis.vendor: LENOVO dmi.chassis.version: Not Available dmi.modalias: dmi:bvnLENOVO:bvrGLET43WW(1.18):bd12/04/2013:svnLENOVO:pn20ANCTO1WW:pvrThinkPadT440p:rvnLENOVO:rn20ANCTO1WW:rvrNotDefined:cvnLENOVO:ct10:cvrNotAvailable: dmi.product.name: 20ANCTO1WW dmi.product.version: ThinkPad T440p dmi.sys.vendor: LENOVO version.compiz: compiz 1:0.9.10+13.10.20131011-0ubuntu1 version.ia32-libs: ia32-libs N/A version.libdrm2: libdrm2 2.4.50-1 version.libgl1-mesa-dri: libgl1-mesa-dri 10.0.1-1ubuntu2 version.libgl1-mesa-dri-experimental: libgl1-mesa-dri-experimental N/A version.libgl1-mesa-glx: libgl1-mesa-glx 10.0.1-1ubuntu2 version.xserver-xorg-core: xserver-xorg-core 2:1.14.5-1ubuntu2 version.xserver-xorg-input-evdev: xserver-xorg-input-evdev 1:2.8.2-1ubuntu1 version.xserver-xorg-video-ati: xserver-xorg-video-ati 1:7.2.0-0ubuntu10 version.xserver-xorg-video-intel: xserver-xorg-video-intel 2:2.99.907-0ubuntu1 version.xserver-xorg-video-nouveau: xserver-xorg-video-nouveau 1:1.0.10-1ubuntu1 xserver.bootTime: Mon Jan 13 09:28:49 2014 xserver.configfile: default xserver.errors: xserver.logfile: /var/log/Xorg.0.log xserver.outputs: product id1034 vendor LGD xserver.version: 2:1.14.5-1ubuntu2 ** Affects: xserver-xorg-video-intel (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: amd64 apport-bug compiz-0.9 trusty ubuntu -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-intel in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1268666 Title: Displayport monitor attached to docking station doesn't work with Haswell/Intel gfx thinkpad t440p To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-video-intel/+bug/1268666/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
