[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 980519] Re: Random log off in Ubuntu 12.04 LTS
Wow got similar behavior as described in this bug just yesterday after an update. So when I log in and the Unity desktop should become visible the Welcome screen comes back asking again for a password. If I try XFCE I do get the desktop but when I try to start any programs there is a crash and the Welcome screen comes up asking for the password. I use Nvidia Quadro card and Ubuntu 13.10. So the bug might not be fixed. Before the update I didn't not have this issue. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1351385] [NEW] My keyboard seems to have some glitches. It will work fine for seconds to minutes, and then the keys will start misbehaving.
Public bug reported: I am very new to Ubuntu, and I am trying to follow the DebuggingKeyboardDetection on Ubuntu wiki, so I apologize if I am missing any information or sending a bug report when I needn't! (I have looked and not found an answer to this problem elsewhere) I have a lenovo g510 laptop that came pre-installed with windows 8.1, and I have Ubuntu 14.04.1 installed alongside windows 8.1. The laptop has an 'Accutype' keyboard, if that means anything. I have not installed any keyboard packages other than what came with the Ubuntu 14.04.1 installation. The problem: While typing in my passwords to various accounts, I was finding that the blinking cursor would suddenly disappear while in the middle of typing, and thus my password would be cut short. I opened up libre office to try and get a better idea of what was happening, and it looks like, as I am typing, my blinking cursor will suddenly jump up to the line above. It seems to be initiated by the pressing of any letter key—I don't believe it is any one particular key, and it comes and goes randomly. The problem seemed to subside for a time after I opened up the languages section and was prompted to install an update. However, within a day or so, the problem has returned. ** Affects: xorg (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xorg in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1351385 Title: My keyboard seems to have some glitches. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1351479] [NEW] Purple screen flicker on black screen when starting Ubuntu 14.04 with amd radeon 6450 gfx card
Public bug reported: Hi there! I cant start Ubunutu 14.04.. During the upstart I see the usual ubuntu loading screen (the one with the dots before loading x).. But I see it with purple flicker and strange noise patterns across the screen here and there.. Then it continues on to the loginscreen in ubuntu but here I dont see anything, its black background with the same purple flicker/strange noise patterns here and there.. Some times I can see the cursor displaying on this black/purple distortion pattern and I have one purple square distortion pattern following the cursor when I move it around.. other than that I cant see a thing actually so something goes wrong when loading this.. It all worked a few days ago and then I updated ubuntu and it didnt worked.. Maybee it did have something to do with that I changed the harddrive with gfx-card to another computer with the same chipset on the motherboard (its only a slower cpu) because I was trying a thing there and then I changed it back.. if I dont remember wrong it stopped working there? Or if it did work and stopped working after doing the usual ubuntu updates.. I dont remember to be honest when it did stop working.. Im not that experienced with ubuntu so I dont know what to do from here, help would be appriciated! You can write what I can try and so I can reply here with the results.. right now its working everything, but I did remove the amd radeon 6450 gfx card and run on the motherboards integrated gfx-chip.. then it loaded as usual so I suspect its something with the amd driver somehow.. but still I have no clue how to fix this.. Ive tried to run in failsafe-x mode at the grub start but with no sucess.. then its only dark with a blinking cursor up in the corner but with nothing else.. not with the purple distortion patterns anyway when I run that mode.. but nothing is loading as said.. I have changed the hd with ubuntu from another computer back and forth, both motherboards have the same chip, one comupter have a sligthly more power cpu, the other dont, Ive changed the gfx card also from one computer to the other.. It worked at first doing this with no errors but now suddently it doesnt work on the new motherboard/cpu.. Thankful for help anyway! /Micke ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 14.04 Package: xorg 1:7.7+1ubuntu8 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 3.13.0-32.57-generic 3.13.11.4 Uname: Linux 3.13.0-32-generic i686 .tmp.unity.support.test.0: ApportVersion: 2.14.1-0ubuntu3.2 Architecture: i386 CompizPlugins: No value set for `/apps/compiz-1/general/screen0/options/active_plugins' CompositorRunning: kwin Date: Fri Aug 1 22:45:01 2014 DistUpgraded: 2014-07-30 23:07:00,955 DEBUG enabling apt cron job DistroCodename: trusty DistroVariant: ubuntu DkmsStatus: fglrx-updates, 13.350.1, 3.11.0-26-generic, i686: installed fglrx-updates, 13.350.1, 3.13.0-32-generic, i686: installed ExtraDebuggingInterest: Yes, if not too technical GraphicsCard: Intel Corporation 82945G/GZ Integrated Graphics Controller [8086:2772] (rev 02) (prog-if 00 [VGA controller]) Subsystem: Dell Device [1028:01ad] Subsystem: Dell Device [1028:01ad] InstallationDate: Installed on 2011-07-11 (1116 days ago) InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 11.04 Natty Narwhal - Release i386 (20110427.1) MachineType: Dell Inc. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1351521] [NEW] touchpad n mouse scroll inverted in some apps
Public bug reported: so i can scrolling vertically (using mouse wheel and two finger touchpad) in nautilus, evince, unity tweak tool but cant in libreoffice writer, google chrome, gnome terminal, firefox, and sublime text yesterday i realized that the scroll direction is inverted when i browsing a web page that have width more than my screen, so the webpage scrolled horizontally when i use my mouse wheel, it's also occurs when i doing two finger scroll. i tried to other app like libreoffice writer, google chrome, gnome terminal, firefox, and sublime text, i try with resize window app until there are horizontal scrollbar appeared in bottom. the weird thing is mouse and touchpad functionality is fine when i try in Test Your Settings at mouse configuration. i just upgrade to the latest kernel, but nothing affected. synclient output Parameter settings: LeftEdge= 130 RightEdge = 3130 TopEdge = 96 BottomEdge = 1697 FingerLow = 1 FingerHigh = 1 MaxTapTime = 180 MaxTapMove = 163 MaxDoubleTapTime= 180 SingleTapTimeout= 180 ClickTime = 100 EmulateMidButtonTime= 0 EmulateTwoFingerMinZ= 282 EmulateTwoFingerMinW= 7 VertScrollDelta = 74 HorizScrollDelta= 74 VertEdgeScroll = 1 HorizEdgeScroll = 0 CornerCoasting = 0 VertTwoFingerScroll = 1 HorizTwoFingerScroll= 0 MinSpeed= 1 MaxSpeed= 1.75 AccelFactor = 0.0537634 TouchpadOff = 0 LockedDrags = 0 LockedDragTimeout = 5000 RTCornerButton = 2 RBCornerButton = 3 LTCornerButton = 0 LBCornerButton = 0 TapButton1 = 1 TapButton2 = 3 TapButton3 = 0 ClickFinger1= 1 ClickFinger2= 3 ClickFinger3= 0 CircularScrolling = 0 CircScrollDelta = 0.1 CircScrollTrigger = 0 CircularPad = 0 PalmDetect = 0 PalmMinWidth= 10 PalmMinZ= 200 CoastingSpeed = 20 CoastingFriction= 50 PressureMotionMinZ = 30 PressureMotionMaxZ = 160 PressureMotionMinFactor = 1 PressureMotionMaxFactor = 1 ResolutionDetect= 1 GrabEventDevice = 1 TapAndDragGesture = 1 AreaLeftEdge= 0 AreaRightEdge = 0 AreaTopEdge = 0 AreaBottomEdge = 0 HorizHysteresis = 18 VertHysteresis = 18 ClickPad= 1 RightButtonAreaLeft = 1630 RightButtonAreaRight= 0 RightButtonAreaTop = 1470 RightButtonAreaBottom = 0 MiddleButtonAreaLeft= 0 MiddleButtonAreaRight = 0 MiddleButtonAreaTop = 0 MiddleButtonAreaBottom = 0 end synclient output xinput ⎡ Virtual core pointer id=2[master pointer (3)] ⎜ ↳ Virtual core XTEST pointerid=4[slave pointer (2)] ⎜ ↳ USB Optical Mouse id=10 [slave pointer (2)] ⎜ ↳ ETPS/2 Elantech Touchpad id=14 [slave pointer (2)] ⎣ Virtual core keyboard id=3[master keyboard (2)] ↳ Virtual core XTEST keyboard id=5[slave keyboard (3)] ↳ Power Button id=6[slave keyboard (3)] ↳ Video Bus id=7[slave keyboard (3)] ↳ Video Bus id=8[slave keyboard (3)] ↳ Sleep Button id=9[slave keyboard (3)] ↳ USB Cameraid=11 [slave keyboard (3)] ↳ Asus WMI hotkeys id=12 [slave keyboard (3)] ↳ AT Translated Set 2 keyboard id=13 [slave keyboard (3)] - end xinput - lsb_release -rd Description:Ubuntu 14.04.1 LTS Release:14.04 ** Affects: xserver-xorg-input-synaptics (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-input-synaptics in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1351521 Title: touchpad n mouse scroll inverted in some apps To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-input-synaptics/+bug/1351521/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help :
