[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1457974] Re: Coloured triangles on screen
Tim Ritberg, as per http://support.ts.fujitsu.com/Download/ShowFiles.asp an update to your computer's buggy and outdated BIOS is available (1.10c). If you update to this following https://help.ubuntu.com/community/BIOSUpdate does it change anything? If it doesn't, could you please both specify what happened, and provide the output of the following terminal command: sudo dmidecode -s bios-version sudo dmidecode -s bios-release-date For more on BIOS updates and linux, please see https://help.ubuntu.com/community/ReportingBugs#Bug_reporting_etiquette . Please note your current BIOS is already in the Bug Description, so posting this on the old BIOS would not be helpful. As well, you don't have to create a new bug report. Once the BIOS is updated, and the information above is provided, then please mark this report Status New. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 926917] Re: Mouse wheel tilt not works
I have attached a USB Capture file (standard pcapng format, can open in wireshark or so) of the mouse doing: ``` Packets - Physical Action Taken 1-6 - Capture stream setup 7-16 - Pressing left-tilt quickly (it seems to repeat it while being pressed) 17-20 - Pressing left-tilt as quick as I can (it seems to repeat it while being pressed) 21-22 - Mousewheel scrolled up one tick 23-24 - Mousewheel scrolled down one tick ``` This was while using the Razer Naga 2014 mouse. As you can see the data coming from the USB device is significantly different between tilting and the mousewheel usages. The tilt works properly in Windows and is seen as a left/right tilt in various applications such as multiple web browsers. In ubuntu, however, it it sending more mousewheel signals and the Fedora project seems to have fixed it via Map REL_DIAL to horizontal scrolling (bfdo#73105, rhbz#869065), though I am unable to confirm due to not having Fedora installed anywhere, may see if they have a livecd version of their system as well when I get time later. ** Attachment added: USB Packet Capture File https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-input-evdev/+bug/926917/+attachment/4403404/+files/Razer-Naga-TiltLeft-TiltRight-ScrollUp-ScrollDown.pcapng -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-input-evdev in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/926917 Title: Mouse wheel tilt not works To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-input-evdev/+bug/926917/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1458327] [NEW] Compiz on Ubuntu Mate 15.04 fails on DELL XPS 13 (9343) with external monitor
You have been subscribed to a public bug: The DELL XPS13 (9343) came with Ubuntu 14.04 factory preinstalled. But it has too many bugs to be useful. In the meantime I have upgraded to Ubuntu Mate 15.04 (Vivid) with kernel 3.19.0-18-generic. The laptop has only a Mini-Displayport connector. So I use an adapter for VGA and HDMI, a no-name 3-in-1, model# 27391 from German company CSL. When the window-manager is Marco (Simple desktop effects) then I do get a connection to an external monitor as it should be. However, Using Marco results in a failure when resuming from suspend. (see bug report https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1454651) When I use the window-manager Compiz (Advanced GPU accelerated desktop effects) I get a proper resume from suspend, but connecting an external monitor results in a black screen on both the internal and external monitor. I can still see the mouse pointer moving across both screens, but no desktop, no menus or anything clickable. Same problem for both an external VGA or an external HDMI connection. Sometimes I do get a picture on the external monitor, but with a few blank spots, and everything is frozen, nothing can be clicked. Switching to a terminal by CTRL-ALT-F1 still works, and gives a terminal on the internal monitor. So currently I can either have a working suspend, or a working external monitor, but not both. --- ApportVersion: 2.17.2-0ubuntu1.1 Architecture: amd64 AudioDevicesInUse: USERPID ACCESS COMMAND /dev/snd/controlC1: ullix 1683 F pulseaudio DistributionChannelDescriptor: # This is a distribution channel descriptor # For more information see http://wiki.ubuntu.com/DistributionChannelDescriptor canonical-oem-somerville-trusty-amd64-20140620-0 DistroRelease: Ubuntu 15.04 HibernationDevice: RESUME=UUID=7b6c248b-36d3-4dcf-9e9e-427d50206af6 InstallationDate: Installed on 2015-04-24 (30 days ago) InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 14.04 Trusty - Build amd64 LIVE Binary 20140620-04:25 MachineType: Dell Inc. Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. It seems that there was an error on your system when trying to install a particular package. Please execute the following command, as it will clear your package cache, in a terminal: sudo apt-get clean Then try performing the update again. This will likely resolve your issue, but the failure could be caused by filesystem or memory corruption. So please also run a fsck on your filesystem(s) and a memory test. Thanks in advance! [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1458292] [NEW] Color smear and char loss from scrolling
Public bug reported: Lenovo Thinkpad x200t Ubuntu 15.04 AMD64 Since upgrade from 14.04 LTS is got following effect. To reproduce: Open a program that scrolls graphical elements like firefox, enter some web sites. Now scroll the content with mouse or keyboard up or down. Result: Some colors from tiny elements smear about whole lines, visible chars fades out. Scrolling has turned to a haunted house of flickering chars and color expression. It was possible to take a screenshot, the yellow from tiny left border smeared to the right like a leaked ink cartridge.
