[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1758306] Re: Cannot switch mouse primary button to Right (left-handed) in Settings
After poking around Google to find a solution, I came here, and I'm still stumped. I just upgraded to 18.04 last night, and I tried GCC to swap my mouse/touchpad buttons back to lefty-normal, and that failed. So I went to the terminal. "gsettings get org.gnome.desktop.peripherals.mouse left-handed" comes back with "true". I saw someone say that there was an update that fixed this, but I've checked for updates after upgrading, and the only update was for the Chrome browser. Nothing mouse-related, and my buttons still aren't right. Any ideas? This is a major PITA for a lefty who uses these buttons all the time. Thank goodness it's not my work laptop (can't convince the office to ditch Windows), but it's still a big problem. In fact, I am writing this on my work laptop because I kept hitting the wrong button on my personal one. It's putting me at a bit of a handicap. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-input-libinput in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1758306 Title: Cannot switch mouse primary button to Right (left-handed) in Settings To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-control-center/+bug/1758306/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

Actually, I just tried plugging in my office wireless mouse into the personal laptop, and the buttons work fine on that. So it's JUST the buttons with the track pad. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1772189] Re: Pointer is erratic without disabling the libinput Acceleration Profile
After a clean reinstall of 18.04 this issue still exists. I did notice something else though. The default settings are usable but they become unusable with higher pointer speeds in settings. I end up preferring disabling the acceleration and setting the pointer speed to maximum although I'd probably like even a bit more speed. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-input-libinput in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1772189 Title: Pointer is erratic without disabling the libinput Acceleration Profile To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-input-libinput/+bug/1772189/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1760104] Re: Xorg crashed with SIGSEGV
So, the pauses I am experiencing is likely due to simply the fact that the keyboards and mice are being removed then added back, which is a different issue than the crashes (which appear nvidia related). I will likely create a PR to only trigger the input subsystem on an as-needed base to reduce the annoying pauses we see during refreshes. Alan reported back on irc that the for loop did *not* trigger the crash which is good for snapd. Looking at the error reports, both are in the /usr/lib/xorg/Xorg binary: * https://errors.ubuntu.com/bucket/?id=/usr/lib/xorg/Xorg%3A11%3Axf86ReadInput%3AInputReady%3Aospoll_wait%3AInputThreadDoWork%3Astart_thread * https://errors.ubuntu.com/bucket/?id=/usr/lib/xorg/Xorg%3A11%3Amain_arena%3AInputReady%3Aospoll_wait%3AInputThreadDoWork%3Astart_thread which have numerous reports. I'm going to mark the 'snapd' task as invalid since while it may aggravate the issue, Xorg is clearly the problem. ** Changed in: snapd Status: New => Invalid ** Also affects: xorg-server (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to nvidia-graphics-drivers in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1760104 Title: Xorg crashed with SIGSEGV To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/snapd/+bug/1760104/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
