[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1913045] Re: Xorg freeze

2021-01-26 Thread Daniel van Vugt
Thanks for the bug report.

1. Please check that you haven't enabled any additional GNOME extensions
in the 'Extensions' app. There should only be the three built-in ones.
If you have more than that then try uninstalling or disabling them.

2. Next time you have to "hard reboot", please then run this command in
a Terminal window:

   journalctl -b-1 > prevboot.txt

and attach the resulting text file here.

3. Please also check for any recent crashes using these instructions:
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/Responses#Missing_a_crash_report_or_having_a_.crash_attachment

** Package changed: xorg (Ubuntu) => ubuntu

** Changed in: ubuntu
   Status: New => Incomplete

** Summary changed:

- Xorg freeze
+ System freezes when in lockscreen

** Package changed: ubuntu => gnome-shell (Ubuntu)

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1913366] [NEW] Persiste problema con ubuntu 18.04 no reconoce monitor ni resolución óptima

2021-01-26 Thread Juan Ruiz Correa
Public bug reported:

Me vi
Saludos.

Public bug reported:

According to https://cgit.freedesktop.org/xorg/app/xrandr/refs:

- 1.5 is five years old
- 1.5.1 is available since 18 months ago

1.5.1 introduces an interesting --filter flag that lets the user choose

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1860424] Re: Microsoft sculpt ergonomic mouse doesn't work on Ubuntu 18.04.3

2021-01-26 Thread Maxim
I seem to have this same problem on Ubuntu 20.10. (It was present in
20.04 as well). Recently I wanted to use this keyboard on Windows 10 and
it was failing as well (!!). I found this article on it for Windows:
https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_10-hardware-
winpc/microsoft-sculpt-ergonomic-mouse-does-not-click-on/a89bc2de-4ee0
-497a-b8fa-289338b9bbb1

Seems that this only happens with older version of the keyboard. I
bought mine in 2016. The described workaround on windows (ctrl-alt-del
and then cancel) has worked.

Similar using Ubuntu if the problem occurs I can use Ctrl-Alt-F3 to
change to a console and then Alt-F2 back to my session and it's working
again. The mouse will then work for a while but the problem does reoccur
intermittantly.

I have not tested this with a later version of the hardware though but
am wondering if the orignal reporter is using an older hardware version
as well.
