[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1916948] [NEW] AMD. Extreme slowness in xorg after upgrading to the 5.8.0-44-generic kernel (Ubuntu 20.04.2)
Public bug reported: UBUNTU 20.04.2 updated until 02/25/2021 5.8.0-44-generic kernel xorg version: 1:7.7+19ubuntu14 I expected to have a minimally acceptable performance, just as it was before the update. The problem only happens in sessions with XORG, either through the GNOME or UBUNTU session. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1915003] Re: SRU: Always update the initramfs when changing power profile
@Łukasz I verified LP: #1904583 Also, the reason why I moved self._disable_nvidia() down is that we want the other stuff that ends up in the modprobe conf file (from self._enable_runtimepm() and self._enable_kms()) to take place before we update the initramfs, which we do in self._disable_nvidia(). So it's all correct. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to nvidia-settings in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1915003 Title: SRU: Always update the initramfs when changing power profile To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/nvidia-drivers-ubuntu/+bug/1915003/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1887190] Re: MSFT Touchpad not working on Lenovo Legion-5 15ARH05
Hi Shatadru Banerjee (satadru-bag) I think you should stick to patches and an official kernel of your distro for now. I use Pop OS 20.10 with kernel 5.8.*. I used to apply the patch in comment #171 and rebuild the kernel to fix my touchpad. Now two of the 3 new patches which Coiby Xu mentions in this bug description are landed to latest kernel updates of my distro. But without the third patch the touchpad doesn't work correctly. And the patch #171 doesn't work now like before. So I have to revert patches 47a0001436352c9853d72bf2071e85b316d688a2 and 06abe8291bc31839950f7d0362d9979edc88a666, and then apply the patch #171 to make touchpad work correctly. I think my NVidia works ok. I'm going to do that until the third patch arrives to my distro. Or a new version of distro will be released (and hopefully everything will work out of the box). Which is in June I think. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-input-libinput in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1887190 Title: MSFT Touchpad not working on Lenovo Legion-5 15ARH05 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/pop-os/+bug/1887190/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1887190] Re: MSFT Touchpad not working on Lenovo Legion-5 15ARH05
Can anyone please give a summary of the solution? What works what does not? I am using 5.11 on ubuntu 20.04. The touchpad works (not great though) but I cannot use nvidia gpu, hence stuck with the iGPU. The brightness control does not work perfectly.
