[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 871972]
Chris Wilson, thank you for following up on this. The Description data was obtained in an Xubuntu Live CD Environment: http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/xubuntu/releases/12.04/alpha-2/ I am not terribly familiar with compositing, which OS has which backend, etc. However, the problem was not reproducible in a Ubuntu 11.04 Live CD Environment (link is long gone as it's all Live DVD now :( ). I think 11.04 uses Metacity with compositing disabled by default?! I've CC'ed Bryce Harrington on this bug so please correct me if I'm mistaken. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-intel in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/871972 Title: [i915] Screen display corruption resizing LibreOffice Calc window Acer Aspire 5750-9668 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/xserver-xorg-video-intel/+bug/871972/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

L e . N o X, thank you for reporting this bug and helping make Ubuntu better. This bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue? Can you try with the latest development release of Ubuntu? ISO CD images are available from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/releases/ . If it remains an issue, could you run the following command from a Terminal (Applications-Accessories-Terminal). It will automatically gather and attach updated debug information to this report. apport-collect -p linux replace-with-bug-number Also, if you could test the latest upstream kernel available that would be great. It will allow additional upstream developers to examine the issue. Refer to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Once you've tested the upstream kernel, please remove the 'needs-upstream-testing' tag. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 771894] Re: [sandybridge-gt1] GPU lockup (IPEHR: 0x680b0000)
Erik van het Hof, thank you for reporting this bug and helping make Ubuntu better. This can be done by clicking on the yellow pencil icon next to the tag located at the bottom of the bug description and deleting the 'needs-upstream-testing' text. Please let us know your results. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 963811] Re: libreoffice impress crashes xubuntu session
mathume, thank you for reporting this and helping make Ubuntu better. However, your crash report is missing. Please follow these instructions to have apport report a new bug about your crash that can be dealt with by the automatic retracer. One may execute at the Terminal: sudo apt-get -y install xserver-xorg-core-dbg libgl1-mesa-dri-dbg xserver-xorg-video-mach64-dbg xserver-xorg-video-r128-dbg xserver-xorg-video-nouveau-dbg xserver-xorg-video-intel-dbg xserver-xorg-video-ivtv-dbg xserver-xorg-video-geode-dbg xserver-xorg-video-amd-dbg xserver-xorg-video-radeon-dbg xserver-xorg-video-ati-dbg xserver-xorg-video-openchrome-dbg sudo service apport start force_start=1 If you are running the Ubuntu Stable Release you might need to enable apport in /etc/default/apport and restart. Now reproduce the crash, then open your file manager, navigate to your /var/crash directory and open the crash report you wish to submit. If this fails you will have to open a terminal and file your report with 'ubuntu-bug /var/crash/_my_crash_report.crash' where _my_crash_report.crash is the crash you would like to report. If you get an error that you aren't allowed to access this report you will have to file it with 'sudo ubuntu-bug /var/crash/_my_crash_report.crash'. I'm closing this bug report since the process outlined above will automatically open a new bug report which can then dealt with more efficiently. Thanks in advance for your cooperation and understanding. ** Package changed: libreoffice (Ubuntu) = xorg (Ubuntu) ** Changed in: xorg (Ubuntu) Status: New = Invalid -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xorg in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/963811 Title: libreoffice impress crashes xubuntu session To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg/+bug/963811/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

rogmorri, thank you for reporting this and helping make Ubuntu better. Maverick reached EOL on April 2012. Please see this document for currently supported Ubuntu releases: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Releases We were wondering if this is still an issue on a supported release? If so, can you try with the latest development release of Ubuntu? ISO CD images are available from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/releases/ . If it remains an issue in a supported release, could you run the following command from a Terminal (Applications-Accessories-Terminal). It will automatically gather and attach updated debug information to this report. apport-collect 655973 For others who may be affected by this bug, please report a new one via the Terminal: ubuntu-bug xserver-xorg-input-synaptics Thank you for your understanding. ** Package changed: linux (Ubuntu) = xserver-xorg-input-synaptics (Ubuntu) ** Changed in: xserver-xorg-input-synaptics (Ubuntu) Status: Confirmed = Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-input-synaptics in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/655973 Title: trackpad not recognized on Gateway LT3119u / Acer ZA8 laptop To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-input-synaptics/+bug/655973/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 792291] Re: Machine hung, display frozen
Jorma Seppänen, thank you for reporting this bug and helping make Ubuntu better. Please execute the following at the Terminal: apport-collect 792291 As well, what you have described seems to be a generic X freeze. It could be caused by any number of things, and you need to take some additional steps to provide a complete report. When did you upgrade to this version of Ubuntu? When did you first notice the freezes occurring? How frequently do the freezes occur? How many per day would you say you experience? List the applications you typically have open at the time of the freeze. Think back to the last few times it froze. What activities were you doing in each of those times? Do you have compiz enabled? Does the issue go away if you disable it? If your system is a laptop, do you suspend/resume it? Had you resumed at some point prior to the freezes? Finally, and most importantly, please collect a GPU dump after reproducing the bug. Packages to install and directions for doing this are available at: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/X/Troubleshooting/Freeze#How%20to%20Get%20a%20Batchbuffer%20Dump%20(-intel%20only) With the GPU dump in hand, we will be able to upstream this bug. Ahmed Shams, thank you for reporting this and helping make Ubuntu better. Maverick reached EOL on April 2012. Please see this document for currently supported Ubuntu releases: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Releases We were wondering if this is still an issue in a supported release? If so, can you please report the results following https://wiki.ubuntu.com/X/Troubleshooting/Resolution#Problem:__Wrong_resolutions.2C_refresh_rates.2C_or_monitor_specs ? As well, can you try with the latest development release of Ubuntu? ISO CD images are available from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/releases/ . If it remains an issue, could you run the following command in a supported release from a Terminal (Applications-Accessories-Terminal). It will automatically gather and attach updated debug information to this report. apport-collect -p linux replace-with-bug-number Thanks in advance. ** Package changed: linux (Ubuntu) = xorg (Ubuntu) ** Changed in: xorg (Ubuntu) Status: Confirmed = Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xorg in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/663417 Title: kernel is improperly detecting the refresh rate of Monitor as 87Hz To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg/+bug/663417/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 185600] Re: [Upstream] LibreOffice repeatedly freezes after resuming laptop from sleep
** Tags added: hardy hw-specific intrepid lucid maverick regression- release ** Description changed: Binary package hint: openoffice.org I've used Feisty and Gutsy but this problem has started happening only recently. Here are the steps to reproduce: 1. Open a document in oowriter. 2. Put the laptop to sleep. 3. Resume the laptop. Here are the symptoms: 1. Scrolling in the openoffice document is jerky. Basically, if I hit page up or page down, oowriter freezes for a few seconds and compiz grays the oowriter window (to show that the app is not responding), eventually oowriter unfreezes, refreshes its screen and is responsive again. If I try to scroll again, the same freeze repeats. 2. Sometimes oowriter seems to also cause other applications to temporarily be unresponsive. The symptom here is that compiz grays *all* the windows on the screen for a few seconds until oowriter becomes reponsive again. 3. No other application freezes like that after resume. Note that symptom 2 above happens *only* when oowriter is running. 4. This one is also a workaround: if I restart openoffice, the problem goes away.
