Hi, ok, but it looks that we should skip the parted upgrade for now. Sounds like a good idea indeed. ;) As soon as the SP3 is out, I will release a 4.8_rc4 SP3! \o/ Any idea when its gonna be out after MS delayed it again? I'd really like to shorten the time an unattended install of XP takes. With all the upgrades takes longer than a manual install. :/ On the same note an updated of the Win2k scripts would be nice. I don't have the experience on how to get all the download urls for the needed updates but I'm willing to help with the testing of the scripts. - jens - This SF.net email is sponsored by the 2008 JavaOne(SM) Conference Don't miss this year's exciting event. I don't know the status of the other languages, if that's what you were waiting for :-) I haven't done much testing with it since I just got it all slipstreamed into my install point late Friday, but it seems winxpsp2-extras.bat and winxpsp2-dotnet.bat still work fine (when renamed to sp3). The winxpsp2-mediaplayer.bat blows up, presumably because it's all included in sp3, but I've not had time to verify anything yet. My personal taste is not to install ie7 or wmp11. Just leave whatever was default on xp. - This SF.net email is sponsored by the 2008 JavaOne(SM) Conference Don't miss this year's exciting event. Re: [Unattended] 4.8 Release Candidate3
Other than the kernel throwing a bunch of errors about parted: program parted is using a deprecated SCSI ioctl, please convert it to SG_IO I didn't get these errors with the previous kernel in 4.8RC2 So far so good. I installed a base Win2k SP4 just fine on a SATA system. I wasn't able to do that with the 4.7 boot disks. I thought there were some other problems, but apparently I was missing this section from my unattend.txt [Data] AutoPartition=1 MsDosInitiated=0 UnattendedInstall=Yes - This SF.net email is sponsored by the 2008 JavaOne(SM) Conference Don't miss this year's exciting event. Re: [Unattended] 4.8 Release Candidate3
Hi, I have upload another test candidate for the next release: http://unattended.sourceforge.net/testing/48_rc3/ Test on your systems. Please report back if you were having problems with NTLDRNotFound and with this release it is solved. I've just tested 4.8-rc3 on two of my systems which always showed the NTLDR Not found error. The first client with an IDE harddisk showed no error at all and everything worked just fine. The second client with a SATA harddisk reported 78 heads and 60 sectors in the first run and then failed after exiting PXE and CD-Rom boot.
