[UC] Another betrayal, FOCP/SHCA

2011-08-13 Thread Glenn
New subscribers don't realize why Vice President Brian Siano immediately
called several of us silly and stupid for calling the taxpayer funded
expansion of the Green Line Cafe, a taxpayer funded expansion of the
Green Line Cafe.

Instead of informing the community or the taxpayers of Philadelphia
about the plot to steal our money and a new parking war, these damn
civic associations once again were meeting secretly to steal our money
and betray our rights regarding community decisions. It's truly
Orwellian that we are supposed to call the taxpayer funded expansion of
the coffee shop, a Parklet.

We read in the paper that Rina Cutler was babbling about community
partnerships again. Now we know that she was talking about the secret
inclusion of Siano and presumably that damned SHCA too. (No you weren't
too busy and uninformed that you missed public transparency about the
parklet. Citizens found out about it just like Karen described)

Just like the imperial government is now nothing more than a mechanism
to rob the people and enrich the powerful elite, local residents know
that the damn civic associations never ever serve the people of the
community, as the thoughtpolice pretend.

Siano and his damned FOCP should have announced the Parklet plot
publicly, long ago, instead of waiting until we discussed the ribbon
cutting to call us silly and stupid for not believing the Orwellian
bullshit about a Parklet.

If you remember, Winston Smith was tortured to confess that 2 plus 2
equaled 5. But he also was tortured until he confessed that 2 plus 2
was always 5, and that he had know memory that 2 plus 2 was ever
anything but 5. Of course, Winston Smith was called insane exactly like
Siano, West, and Van Helder call Glenn Moyer insane.

Of course, Siano and the FOCP/SHCA can never offer anything but
gibberish about its secret betrayals. And of course, they're always
going to immediately attack any of us who continue to tell our neighbors
and Philadelphia taxpayers that 2 plus 2 is actually 4.

These damn civic associations were always tiny gangs designed for
astroturfing. Back in the twentieth century, community members could
ignore them as a bunch of cranks. But now, the civic associations are a
rubber stamp for the powerful corporate/Wharton propaganda machine.
People cannot ignore the role of Siano and the civic associations, and
hope to one day regain hope for a government for the people!

You better get ready for new trash taxes, tickets, and BID's while you
drink Victory coffee and celebrate world peace at the parklet with Siano
and the other thoughtpolice.

Fuck the FOCP and fuck the SHCA!

Glenn Moyer, a citizen of the world

[UC] Winston spotted in the village

2011-08-13 Thread Glenn
Many people thought that Winston Smith died back in 1984. But someone
spiked his Victory gin, and it turns out that he just had a thirty year
hangover.

In 2011, Winston decided to take a funky vibe dollar stroll up the
brightly lit Baltimore Ave commercial corridor looking for cleaner safer
walkability amenities in the special democracy district. On the way, he
spotted the Green Line Cafe and decided to stop in for an upscale
Victory coffee to celebrate world peace as ordered by CNN.

After the upscale real estate lady ordered her third triple latte and
passed a little gas, it was Winston's turn to order. Before asking for
his Victory Coffee, Winston decided to compliment the owner for his new
expanded seating area on 43rd St. Winston said to the owner, I really
like the ugliness of your new upscale seating area. I'm sure our dear
big brothers at Penn Praxis approve.

Before Winston could end the compliment with the obligatory, hail to
UCD; Siano pulled his pants up to his shoulders and sprang to his feet.
In another corner of the room, Mr West from the Ministry of Truth
started bouncing around like a Mexican jumping bean.

The smart Love drones from the Ministry of Justice could already be
heard circling above the newly redesigned park when Van Helshit shouted
into one of the many gadgets he was plugged into, we've got a
thoughtcrime at the parklet! Swarm! Swarm!

As all the good parklet people ran quickly away from Winston, jackbooted
riot police swarmed through the parklet door with their Love tazers.
With helpless resignation the insane Winston asked his torturers, Are
you going to vaporize me in Clark park where you vaporized Glenn Moyer

At that, West, Siano, and Van Helshit burst into approved laughter. No
such leftist wanker named, Glenn Moyer, ever existed, they cackled in
unison.

And big brother had greatly improved since 1984. All parklets in the
village had had telescreens covering every nanometer of the Democracy
district installed years earlier. Controlled from the Franklin
building, the smart Love drones had been deployed to neutralize the
thoughtcrime the moment the insane Winston uttered the heresy. In a
flash, Winston was vaporized right at the door of the parklet.

As West, Siano, and Van Helshit obediently went back to their lattes and
the lightly moderated UCNeighbors happy listserv, all thoughts went back
to the happy good children. There hadn't been a proper hanging at Clark
Park since all the whores, drug addicts, and gangs were locked up in a
chain gang. Now that CNN declared world peace, how were the good
children going to be properly prepared for Hate Week in a world free of
wars and public executions?

Gotta go now. I hear civic association leaders knocking at my door.

I'm sorry Glenn, I wasn't confusing your stupidity with your enjoyment.

I'm afraid that my feelings on the parklet are less than emotional.
It's a fun, temporary display. I do however enjoy and support most
creative forms of street art (or whatever you are going to call it in
rebuttal). If the temporary inconvenience of losing two parking
spaces is making it hard for people to manage they're parking needs
then you can take my spot for the time being. let me know and I will
save a spot for you with my folding chairs (I stole them from Clark
Park btw). Much of the reasons for living in this neighborhood is the
never ending diversity of ideas and creative displays that our
neighbors demonstrate in many ways. The city is a tight squeeze and
we're all in it together. If we spent less time selfishly complaining
about minor inconveniences and embrace the cultural expressions and
creativeness of those who make things happen we might smile a bit
more.

As for Clark Park... it's my children's backyard. We are thankful
that there are changes being made and that the Park has become a more
friendly space for most. The amount of folks that use the north side
of the park speaks for the positive change that's happening. I'm not
going to sit here and say that every change is good and that any
change is going to satisfy everyone but I'm not an angry guy with too
much time and a personal agenda. I have a family, a real job which
keeps me from becoming obsessed with every blade of grass that is
damaged and every fart that is expelled from the powers working hard
to make West Philly Safer, more creative, and a great place to raise a
family.

Lastly, I will have to confess that my love for Siano is undeclared
as is my love for Glenn. Sorry.

I've now addressed my shallow, selfish feelings about these things.
I'm out. I will continue to enjoy reading the ever so entertaining

It is called ad hominem. You lamely attempted to attack my personality in an

more. It is considered a fallacy of logic. It doesn't support your happiness
delusions, nor does it refute anything I said.

This stuff doesn't make you or Van Helder look smart except to each other. It
is considered an attempt to bully. It doesn't effect me because I've been
dealing with the FOCP for years and ad hominem is their primary strategy when
they are betraying the people of this community. But it bullies the people on

I just insulted FOCP leaders and Van Helder. That is not the ad hominem
fallacy because I've identified the behavior that deserves those appropriate
insults. Do you understand the difference? I shortened your name to Rat to
insult you and I did that because of your use of ad hominem. Lots of people
dishonestly equate insults with ad hominem when they are trying to deceive
people and then cry out, civility. Deceptions are not the same as civility.
And insulting the jackasses is sometimes important. It often helps show that

The reason that Americans are not smiling as much as I do is not a lack of

Re: [UC] Re:response to Rat Parking Spaces @ 43rd Baltimore

2011-08-13 Thread Glenn
You seem like a sad person. Robert, I was not sufficiently bombastic
when I only briefly mentioned that the path to real happiness lies in
the teachings of the Buddha. I sincerely hope you pick up some
literature. Don't think of the dharma as a religion, like the Abrahamic
monotheism all around us. Think of it as a way of life and reaching for
enlightenment. Also, the path of the Bodhisattva teaches us a
willingness to sacrifice some of our personal happiness for the benefit
of others, but following one's duty brings a much deeper joy anyway.

This cult of positive thinking that is used to manipulate Americans is
very very dangerous. Optimism and joy are real and good. Self delusion
and an unrealistic demand to always be happy sets people up for
depression, pessimism, and oppression. It's used in the corporate media
by the powerful elite to make us helpless consumers. I see the
pessimism come through a great deal here in the happy UC paradise. And
it allows us to turn our backs on our fellow Philadelphians and except
the misery that our military empire causes globally.

Going with the flow is not an option for me, since I truly believe
that our society and republic is collapsing. I see incredible pain and
suffering in the world directly caused by a barbaric economic system and
ruthless oppression. I connect the loss of our values and forgetting
the meaning of the Amendments to the Constitution for much of that
suffering.

I also see the loss of our values right here with the parklet, the
gentrification, and the redesign of Clark Park, as we allow our
neighboring communities to literally starve while the middle class
trades away the rights of future generations. If people don't rise up
in their neighborhoods and reclaim what has been lost (that which gave
us hope for the future), we have no chance to save the planet or solve
the massive suffering around the world. Pretending that parklets and
RoundUP are green will not make anyone happy. Pretending that
transparency and inclusion are not the keystones of all republics will
not make anyone happy. (We've forgotten nearly everything about
transparency, fairness, and inclusion.) Pretending that lies are truth
will not make anyone happy.

I may not be successful with anything, but I cannot be stopped by
personal attacks. I plan to stand with our brothers and sisters in
Washington this October and start that which the great Kathy Change
called the transformation, so maybe the riot police will silence me.

OK Here is the credit for what you wrote to begin this exchange. This was
your entire post. Everyone can see that you are not telling the truth.

It is called ad hominem. You lamely attempted to attack my personality in
an attempt to silence the serious issues I addressed. You interjected
nothing more. It is considered a fallacy of logic. It doesn't support your
happiness delusions, nor does it refute anything I said.

This stuff doesn't make you or Van Helder look smart except to each other.
It is considered an attempt to bully. It doesn't effect me because I've
been dealing with the FOCP for years and ad hominem is their primary
strategy when they are betraying the people of this community. But it
bullies the people on the listserv who might be intimidated from speaking up
because of jackasses like Van Helder, FOCP leaders, and others who copy

money a minor inconvenience while so many people suffer

This is unbelievable stupidity. How many libraries and rec centers will
be shut down to pay for the militarization of the streets? As they
throw the families into a financial catastrophe, how much violence and
damage to Philadelphia teens and families will result from this PR
performance for wealthy suburbanites and Nutter's bosses at Penn.

This is absolutely terrible! Warn the kids and help them organize for
non-violent revolution!
